General Car Chat / A happy coincidence!
« on: 05 June 2014, 19:53:19 »
A chap popped round this evening to pick up a couple of bits for a v6 into scimitar project he's doing. As I've mentioned I am now driving a rare early Saab 9000 Griffin of which there are only 48 left . What does he pull up in ...a bloody 9000 Griffin. I've been struggling to find a few bits for mine, being the early type, and he has a similar breaker which should really help my one out with a bit of part trading both ways! Made up  :) we were both a but taken aback by the chances of it.

Nice guy too  :y

General Discussion Area / Career change ideas needed
« on: 27 May 2014, 19:37:43 »
I've worked in the health sector as a project manager for nigh on 20 yrs and am considering a change for a variety of reasons. I have no clue what direction to head in and less of a clue what different fields pay so would appreciate any ideas of which sectors my skills would transfer to or ( sensible  ::) ;)) suggestions of areas to consider that I may not have thought of. Really would appreciate any feedback as so long in one field has shaded my view of the jobs market!

General Car Chat / Saab 9000 update
« on: 24 May 2014, 21:20:45 »
I've been trying dig up the background of my saab 9000 and had a right result this morning. I always write down the previous owners details before the vendor sends off the v5 and wrote to a chap in Blackburn who owned it for 13 yrs, got an exteremely long phone call off him this morning, he kept pretty much a mile by mile diary detailing every job done like ATF and box filter changes every 6k , oil and filter every 4k  :) oh and it also had a full engine rebuild by saab 30k ago  :). Would I like the book and receipts posting to me .....erm yes please!

I put it in for its MOT and it just needs a couple of rear flexi's so pretty happy with it so far for a 21yr old barge. Found a similar age one in a local scrapyard which is a bonus as they are pretty scarce.  Need to crack on with some cosmetics but it seems a goodun so far.

General Car Chat / clutch cable adjustment
« on: 08 May 2014, 21:21:19 »
Cousins shitbox cable clutch is apparently biting high, maybe shagged but will try to adjust the cable as a stopgap. To save arsing round would you tighten( shorten) the cable to lower the bite or loosen it?

It's dark and cold out there :'(
