I just reconnected battery after being on holiday and both light are staying on. I usually disconnect battery when not using car for more than a few days and never had this before.

Going to do pedal test, just wondering what it might be a faulty sensor perhaps?

sure its not TC and ABS light?  If it is, look for any speedo abnormalies.

Have you driven the car yet?

If not, start it, turn the wheel lock to lock and back again and take it round the block.

If the lights are still on, then it sounds like the ABS ecu.

That said, double check the brake fluid level and make sure the TC/Sport/winter buttons are all OFF.

Yeah the abs light.

It's been driven quite a bit recently, lights still on, fluid ok no codes coming up.

Had read it could be and module or a sensor.

No codes suggests the ecu... Speedo working?

I take it that since everything else ok, speedo, steering etc. that this issue points to perhaps a faulty ABS sensor?

Possibly. Get the codes read as it could be something else...

What happens if you stand on the brakes at 20-30 mph?

Obviously expect the unexpected when you do this as it will highlight weak bushes as well.

I've done pedal test and no codes. Not tried brakes in anger, would likely do in reverse to see if I can get fronts to lock or if ABS might still work.

Do it forwards and do it properly  ;) you won't reverse fast enough to get the abs to work, if it even works in reverse...

Besides, better to find out if the abs is working (or not) before you need it in anger.

Pedal trick won't show abs codes, so you'll need a tech 2 or at least something that might read them...

lol will try that, I am very mechanically sympathetic so wince at the thought of stamping my size 10s hard on the big pedal!

Luckily AA man stays next to my mate so got him to put tech 2 on it. Getting fault on OSF wheel sensor, so at least it's not the abs ECU!
