« on: 14 February 2024, 23:01:30 »
I have just started to get the warning that my adblu is low & I only have about 1500 kilometers before the engine wont start , on this car ( 2019 citroen c4 cactus 1.5 dti ,spacetourer ) the filling is situated next to the diesel . Nowhere in the user manual does it tell me how much of the ad blu that I need to put in . do i just fill until it takes no more?

General Discussion Area / INSURANCE CLAIMS
« on: 11 October 2023, 13:03:34 »
Back in mid June i was involved in an accident. how it happenedon on a large roundabout that has 3 entries & as many exits  i had just gone through a green light but after about 20mtrs i had to stop because of a big horsebox that i presume was heading for york races. the horsebox  was trying to switch lanes . a car coming up a southbound ramp managed to get thruogh the gap between my car & the horsbox but a van that followed caught my frontend & totalled my car.  i was deemed to be in fault simply because the position  i was in & he had a green light. also because of the positionn of both vehicles the police had to arrange removal. on his report he recommended no further action to be taken. good news I was paid out within a week.
however last saturday i got papers from the other party,s solicitor wanting £,8500 . naturally i phoned them & was told its because Aviva had not settled the claim from the other party.  it took me over 5 hours to speaak to the right department at Aviva ( claim fulfillment team ). aviva have asked me to send them the court papers so they can deal with it ,

General Discussion Area / car insurance (lies)
« on: 24 June 2023, 13:57:24 »
3 days early morning ish i was involved in an accident . my car was a writeoff. after ringing my insurance & the AA to get recoveryn of both vehiclesn I was told because of the location of both vehicles the police would have to arrange to get them moved. on my insurance I had paid for a courtesy car but was told that if my car was deemed to be a writeoff coutesy cars are not given to the policy holder.anyway i have bought a car, pick up 1pm Monday so I require to insuree it . Used the insurance search web sites & most had prices ranging from £385 - £570 plus a  few that were stupid quotes. I never hid the fact of the accident. My insurance was with Aviva & except for an accident line the telephone is obsolete. .online only.
however i submitted to Aviva another insurance application to start from Monday & for a quote & they came back with £1,579. i have had car insurance plus commercial vehicle cover since the late 1960,s  & never made a claim or had a claim against me. talk about sick as a parrot.  its paying for a courtesy thats got me riled , nothing is explaind when the box is ticked.

General Discussion Area / retirement age
« on: 12 June 2023, 15:35:50 »
i kinda agree with the french that are objecting to a retirement age increase. not all occupations are the same,  some jobs that entail bending hundreds of times a day in all climates for instance those jobs take thier toll on a persons body probably more than a lot of other types of employment that have not got those type of tasks. lower the pension age not increase it is what i say

General Discussion Area / Santander Scam
« on: 03 February 2023, 14:52:45 »
has anybody received a message supposedly from Santander saying " Did you try to buy something from Argos for £359 if you did enter the 6 digit code to authorise the transaction. If it wasn,t you call Santander on 03330067715.  i got it yesterday but i have never banked with that bank. anyway i googled it & came across an article by Martin Lewis warning its a scam. he warned not to ring the number . but I think the scam would only work if Santander was your bank.

General Car Chat / facebook scam
« on: 21 January 2023, 21:41:41 »
has anyone heard of this scam. an old friend will contact you via facebook & after the niceties tells you that they received a large sum of money from the DHHS that he never had to pay back, In his case it was £80,000. He also told me that he saw my name on the beneficiary list & sent me a link to contact the agent . A person called Susan C Fitgerald . he kept inquiring if I,d contacted her. My suspicions made me think some thing was amiss, but I did contact her. ( I couldn.t contact by  for her via ordinary ways, I had to use the F.B link)  she replied almost immediately asking for full name, address, email & contact number. after a very short time I was told that the beneficiary list & I too was going to receive £80k. Eventually I was asked to go to a store & purchase an Apple gift card for the sum of £200 & contact her when I have it. Needless to say ive not done that now I am getting messages telling me Fedex have the money in a box & it will be delivered 4hrs after they have the details off the apple card which is supposed to be for stamp duty, the D.H.H.S stands for dept .health human sources which i have found out its an american benefit source.

General Discussion Area / sat navs
« on: 05 January 2023, 21:40:11 »
since having this french  car I have always had problems putting post codes into the satnav. apparently its something to do with the french only using 4 digits & advising using longitude/. latitude co-ordinates. i believe some owners have installed other satnav systems on theirs so going to look down that route
