C30SE into Omega B?
« on: 26 March 2011, 05:15:31 »

Hello guys :) This is my first post on this forum. I hope for good answers on this question :)

Now i have an Omega B with Mv6 engine, the fourth engine in this car! I want to try something new and im planning to fit a c30se engine from Omega A 3000.

I need help to get the wiring right, if someone can bring up a good wiring diagram i would be extremely happy  ;D

Thank you :) Sorry for my bad english, im from norway! hehe
(i didn't figure the search function so i dont know if there is other treads like this.)

I wouldn't do it from a performance point of view, and from reliability you might be better 30ne.(or ideally a c30ne 'goldtop' with c26ne dual ram system)
Try posting on www.totalcarlton.com theres a few guys on there who will be able to advise

hmmmmh.. I dont want to fit a 12valve engine into my Omega.
But its gonna be c30se, i know its not as mutch power as the mv6, but if its a better engine than the 30XE (less electric, and fewer things that can go wrong)

I can try to post om that forum ;)

someone on here has one this - it's not that difficult. I'm sure he will be along shortly.

C30SE has almost exactly the same electrical system, so the wiring is no easier.

engine mounts are in a different place, so you need to do some subframe welding, and you will need a new gearbox if it is manual.

I knew you'd get there eventually, what took you so long?! ;)

Do you ever sleep - what with traveling the length and breadth of the nation building unmentionable stuff for work and keeping lots of Omegas Roadworthy?

Got to see any of your V8's yet? ;)

Nice to hear from you Stuart!

So, do i need MS or something like that to fix the electrics? or is it possible to connect the cars electric and the engine electrick together? if anyone knows, it would be alot easier! :P

I probably have all the parts needed to build an engine wiring loom for you when you get to that part.

yes - I have a spare C30SE engine loom and could adapt it to Omega B with little difficulty.

The leads on the loom would need shortening because Omega B ecu is under the bonnet rather than in the car.

And then the Omega B loom to car connector would need adding for the rest of the functions.

If your going to the trouble of fitting a C30SE why not try a source an Irmscher 4.0ltr version instead.

Quite a few for sale in Europe at the mo but very thin on the ground in the UK.

What ever you fit be it a 3.0 or a 4.0 make sure it has had uprate timing chains and guides as these were a weak point.
The ABS have had new heavy duty chains made but you will need to replace the chain giudes and sprokes which are more or less impossible to find these days

Oh and you might also have a problem with the wipers as i believe the motor fouls the cam cover

Cheers
Andy
