Found lying behind block left hand end

2008 Vectra 1.8 petrol manual
Having lost the heater matrix hose clip I looked high and low for it and spotted this item, sitting on a ledge behind the block, near the left hand end. Looks like a temperature sensor; no message warned me of its absence. It is part of this Vectra 1.8 that has come adrift, or some other car?

Is there not a part no (either Bosch , Siemens or GM etc) that may help identify it? There usually is if it is genuine / original part. You may need a magnifying glass to read it!

Only you will know if you removed it as part of the job :-\

Any markings? Whatever car it was fitted to will have an impressive coolant leak if it wasn't replaced...

Cooling Radiator Coolant Temperature Sensor 55591002
probably left over from when "someone" :P swapped the leaky rad a while back  ;D
its not the CTS for the running temp ,it's the water return from rad temp IIRC
sometimes it's on the rad, sometimes on the coolant bridge/stat housing

No markings. No water leak. I did change the radiator some months back, but do not recall removing it at the time. The connector has two pins. There is no lonely cable in the same area.

Looked there Dave. There is a similar sensor present at the rear of the thermostat assembly., though with a larger connector. It sists in a plastic pocket, so its absence would not cause a coolant leak.

This is the same car on which I changed the thermostat, and the radiator, in the last 12 months.
