Wanted - Airbox screws in good condition
« on: 18 September 2016, 22:47:48 »

Having failed to find anything equivalent in the DIY stores does anyone have any good condition ones floating around?

Had to cut slots in the ones on the project and unscrew them with a flat screwdriver.

How long are the screws? Been many a year since I had to undo a FL airbox. Might have an idea, but suspect what I have in mind will be too short.. :-\

As above, PFL/MFL used clips, much better idea. However, I might be able to acquire some from Le Yard au Scrap soon...

Personally I would try a find some replacement Phillips type etc, the torx ones are rubbish and rust like crazy.

I did find some nice Stainless Steel replacements a few years back, it was worth the wait.

Have to say I have replaced my exhaust nuts/bolts, caliper banjo and the brake backplate screws with stainless, with obvious beneficial results. Trying to find the bleeders, though. When I had access to a decent EPC that tends to document the thread and length of the screws/nuts bolts, which is a godsend for hunting out replacement parts, however, that website I used to use has closed down, now sadly.

I use these people, theve been there for years, a small green door on an old building in the heart of Epping Forest, open the door go down the steps and your in Aladdin's Cave of Tools and Nuts and Bolts, if they haven't got it of cant get it, you probably dont need it.

Local to me and about 2mins off the M25, or I can always pop in if someone needs me to.   :y

Got some here that are slightly rusty but perfectly useable, I'm waiting for Anhialator to arrive but he's running late so just give them a wire brush and a coat of satin black and they're looking pretty new, send me your address and i'll chuck them in the post
