Title: Petrol Price Shock
Post by: Lizzie Zoom on 18 June 2019, 11:42:00
With all that has been going on between the USA and Iran, with tankers bombed (as per the other threads) and World oil prices shooting up.......................

This morning at Sainsbury's, where the price has been up to 131.9 in recent weeks, it was 124.9, down 3p per litre on what it was just a few days ago!

Great, but what is going on now?  ??? ??? :D :D ;)

Of course I filled up the tank to the brim in the gamble that price cannot last ;D ;D

World oil prices shooting up.......................

Brent Crude has been trending downwards over the last few weeks and has gone from $70 down to about $60.  It briefly spiked when the tankers were attacked but quickly fell back again.  ;)

I can't say what I paid recently, I never tend to look now, nor follow the mpg.

Ignorance is bliss.  ;D

Still 54.9p here at Sainsburys, its been at them prices for a loooong time now, rhought that was bad as it was around 51p a couple of years back. Still mustnt grumble wasnt that far back when LPG was in its high Seventy Pence something and we though that was cheap.

For quiet a while with LPG vs Petrol and Diesel Prices its fair to say that it is, if not better than, half price Motoring when it comes to Fuel, even when you allow for the slightly lesser MPG on LPG vs Petrol..  ;)

Quite opposite from what I'd assumed, one of the predictions for the future is that crude oil long term will get cheaper to dig up and refine.. with new technologies etc.

So perhaps one day when all cars are electric, the few petrol stations left will be back down to 2 digit-prices again!

PS I personally can't see it happening in a million years, but that's what the experts say  :D

In the UK, the do-gooders will stop that.  People with too much time on their hands.  Cull 'em. All of 'em.

I doubt he will win the next election. Certainly not with a majority. Its all in the hands of the Tory party now. If they get Brexit done, and then get back to the normal rough & tumble of National politics, they should be able to destroy Corbyn.
If they don't, they are likely to be in coalition with the Brexit party next time around.
Quite a few Tory MP,s from the ERG group have already warned that they will leave the party and join the Brexit party in November, if it isn't done and dusted.
