I have noticed there are a few 'spray on' underseal products about.

Since my baby is always kept in the garage in dry (kept under her warm Duvet ;)), is it worth giving the underside a bit of TLC ?

    • Anybody used any of the spray on underseals ?
    • Is it worth doing just really to 'Keep on top of things and keep the underside protection up to scratch ?
    • Anybody recommend any brands / particular stuff ?

I only ask since I have just had the arches and door sorted, they wax oiled the wheel arches so look brand new.  Thought I may therefore give the whole underside a spray if thought worth it ?

Thoughts welcome and merry chrismas to all  :y

Preparation is key, regardless of the product you choose ;)

Scrape any loose edges, and use the thickest brush-on underseal you can get. Buy it from a trade supplier not Halfords.
Brushing it will give better coverage, cost less and not make (such) a mess.

Just sprayed the underside of my prized Citroen van after extensive welding with this stuff.

Used on winter maintenance gritter vehicles if that helps.

Shouldn't spray your baby with underseal mate, and most people let their babies live in their houses ;)

If you're asking about your car, then it is worth doing - advice as above, ie good preparation and brush application ;)

When I did my heat shield stud 'mod' (replacing sheared threads after removal of heatshields) I liberally smeared the areas of bare metal exposed after drilling / angle grinding with seam sealer. I will be going over these areas in time with a black underseal to make it all 'match'  :y
