The new Beast!
« on: 07 February 2016, 13:52:16 »

Not going to be many peoples favourite colour but the body wrap may come off depending on various factors, later in the year.
Specs are: 6.2 V8 supercharged, 14000 miles, suspension mods to be identified when I go up to Monkfish on Wednesday as it's going for a health check and full service. Can't say much more about it at the moment as there's not much history to go on. Sorry about the lack of pictures but Photobucket is real crap to day.

Thanks Al,I didn't go for the colour in particular,it was the low mileage that was the attraction as the car is as new,it's been pampered all its life and only used in the summer months. The other thing was that it was hidden away only five minutes walk from me in a garage and wrapped in two sheets. It's not a project car unlike the Omegas ::) and it's really going to be a way of getting about in the summer months to the various V8 meets which are pretty numerous as opposed to the Omega meets which struggle a bit in all honesty. So hopefully I'll get the best of both worlds as life is getting a bit boring with the shite weather we have had this winter. ::)

I'm definitely in the Miss Daisy club at the moment, this thing is a missile and I'm having to remember at all times that this is not an Omega which by comparison is a pussy cat. It's a bit of a learning curve at the moment....and have only driven on dry roads, but with the weather as bad as it is I guess it won't be long before I have the pleasure of all road conditions :o :)

Planning to keep separate from Omega meets,as I still have a long history of Omega ownership and want to keep that side of things going when a meet is arranged, as I think we all agree that the Omega is a fading marque and can't really survive but for a few more short years :'(

I'm a newbie to the V8 game so I couldn't give any constructive advice as of yet,but I think that if you have reasonable budget then you should be able to find a well sorted car.I was interested in a red VXR with 22,000 miles on it up in Bedford on GayBay and as far as I know it's still available.....looks really nice :y I would guess that you probably wouldn't need a super charged model as by the looks of the cars on Youtube, they all seem to be able to light the tyres up with ease :o Also I think Robsey has been using one of his as a taxi...I stand corrected if this is incorrect :y Go on treat yourself.....you only live once and why leave it to your wife/kids/government etc I'm joining the too much fun club  :)

You have to see it as an investment though dont you  ::) I dont think you would lose much money say if you kept it for 5 years then sold it if you had to ? Although i'd think that would be harder to part with than an omega .

I think that production is about to or has ceased, not sure wether that will make them more/less desirable,I guess time as always will tell on that one.But in the meantime I'm going cruising 8) (but not in the gay way!) ::)

Unfortunately, all big purchases are very much on hold... We are looking at options for the future, one of which makes a Sportwagon a very real possibility ;)
