early mid to newer mid... simple to change or?
« on: 17 December 2011, 22:27:04 »

hello i have a omega 2.0 16v from 1997 that has the "early" mid computer and of course it has just half the pixels left..(lol)
i am planning to get a new one and i wonder if it is possible to mount the new type of mid instead of the old one?...

by the way..i read in a topic that mid only came in german or english..that it not true as omegas here in norway came with swedish text...

its a case of slightly modifying the wiring and the plug at the back.

if you have a wiring diagram, should be fairly trivial

never seen converter cable.  I think the individual pins can be removed from yellow and black plugs and slipped straight into the grey plug housing.

Haynes, from ebay, has the wiring diags for both

Chapter 12, there are 2 lots of diagrams, 'Early cars' (94-97) and 'Later cars' (98-99)

So you have the wiring and pinouts for early and late MIDs :D

Correct, unless you get the one with correct config on.

*MUST* be the genuine Tech2 (about €4,000), not the shiity leads on ebay with a name of tech2
