Omega's in Turkeye
« on: 22 October 2015, 15:21:14 »

Hi there,Just a bit of info really.I'm just back from Turkey and whilst their I was browsing their Omegas as I saw a few around.First thing that struck me was the price really expensive still over £10,000 but I did notice that some had built in tv screens in the front seat headrests. As they were leather seats it seemed an original spec so I wonder what other mods are out on european market?http://www.ooyyo.com/turkey/c=CDA31D7114D2857F111B986FBAEA355B65A11D6614F3854111/1618538476886806912.html/#images

Cem always said that car prices were ridiculous over there. Or maybe its just the Vauxhall badge that causes horrific depreciation.

Although the model line up had different specs in Euroland, not aware of any leaving factory with screens in headrests though?

I saw a German estate omega at Malaga airport. Talked with the owner. He wanted to sell it but huge price and poor condition -scrapes etc.
It deffo had folding mirrors and DVD in headrests.

So what else did euro land get over the UK?

Folding mirrors
Special edition 17" five spokes
Special edition green leather
Far wider, albeit rare, range of Irmsher factory bits including leather colour options such as red
2.0 dti manual
2.5 dts full fat BMW lump with 5 speed auto
ESP instead of TC option... presumably adds front independent wheel braking to the 2.6/3.2 set up (unconfirmed)

And that's about your lot :y

Prices are similar in Ukraine, where import duties are so high. Even a total right-off is worth at least £2.5k where temporary import goes in, takes written off car's id and written off goes out to a Polish scrap yard! :o :o :o
