Loose spark plugs
« on: 20 September 2010, 23:52:38 »

Further to lazy dockers thread a couple of weeks ago, and one in help section today.

Had a grumpy cold start last week, pedal trick gave 0300 and 0304. Changed the plugs as they had 30k on them and have a look see while in there, no water or oil, but pot 4 had a sooty boot on the coil pack, further in, found pot 4 spark plug to be loose to the point I could undo it by hand with a plug socket and extention. :o

Soot all round the base of that plug. Pots 2 and 6 where by no means tight, 135 bank seemed tight but never 25nm tight as is the correct torque setting...

....thing is the newbie Master says he torques them all down again as the crush washer tends to relax. Didn't know that one, thanks master.... :y

too late for me though, I'm not battling with that bloody cable tray again >:(
