In fact, if everyone had taken his advice, this would now be an E class forum.

Christ, we are not all at retirement age yet.......or running a Taxi firm in Germany  ;D ;D ;D
Oh, I wonder if they do them in that lovely beige colour? Hmmm.. :-*
I would have an E class. Oh wait...I am at retirement age.  ;D
OK, it's not exactly beige, but... Just for you

I have an Asian guy on my team who refers to that colour as Pakistani Racing Gold.  ;D

That's less than ten miles from me, if he wants me to inspect it for a small fee.  :)

No hairdressing involved ;D

I stumbled across one locally at a price that was almost reasonable and looked not dissimilar to the car my SILs late father had when she married my brother, so it kind of stood out a bit.

All a moot point as it was sold yesterday, so I still don't know if Mother could get in and out of it ::)

I want you to picture yourself helping your mother in and out of that gay roller skate. Try hard.....can you see it?
Now, punch yourself in the face and move on.

I did wonder if the wider doors of a coupe would outweigh being quite low...

The Trolley has two problems... 1. although the seats are relatively high from the ground , so is the floor. 2. The seats aren't overly adjustable either which compounds the floor height issue :-\

.........
so I still don't know if Mother could get in and out of it ::)

Just before my mum became completely disabled, I had a F33 430d (bmw convertible for those not familiar). Obviously mine was a four seater but it was the easiest of my cars to get her in because I'd open the roof, she would literally step in and sit down and I'd close the roof and drive off. This would be repeated to get her out again. Bit of a pain when it was raining but it really was the only way to get them out and about and out of the house.
It saved her ducking down under the roof line, which is where older people struggle. My only concern was the steep rake on the front screen. You have to watch their head on the top corner of the windscreen as they get in if they sit in the front.
