QuoteI don't trickle charge the batteries though as I am too lazy to reset the radio
There's no need to disconnect the battery if you're using a well behaved trickle charger. It's only charging at higher rates with crude battery chargers that is likely to harm the car's electronics.

QuoteHow often do you use your 2.2 Tunnie?
Alternator...i dont think....i think at the mo its just lack of use...
Well at the moment, not very much... i only took it for a run today cause i knew it won't get used for another 2 weeks.
Usually its fine on day to day use, and left for say a week at a time.
I left it for a week while i brought the Senny down to London, came back and it started fine. I went to Slough last week, only just started and it had only been left about a week, again another week and its dead... so something is taking a slow drain.
Be interesting to see if the Senator starts when i get back, that would have been left around 4 maybe 5 weeks.
The only multimeter I have is a rubbish cheapo-crap-o one, think a trip to TheBoys might be needed when i go home!
Personal preference: don't use flushing agents, just a good few oil changes...
I would NOT under ANY accounts buy this car.
Not because I suspect anything is wrong with it, but because if the owner is so lazy in his writing of the Ad, how lazy has he been in caring for the car??
"no pay pal dont no y it wont let me remove it cash on collection cheque or postal order but please note if paying this way pick up when funds have cleared thanks 4 looking "
Is it just me, being a miserable old git (at the age of 23!) ... I DETEST the awful shortening of words like this, it's shameful for adults to write in such a way..
The V6 is a good reliable unit if it is maintained properly.
Most of the issues are down to lack of previous maintenance/incompetence(see many Vx "technicians").
Buy the right car (eg Marks if he ever decides to sell! ) and follow the correct service schedule and you should have a good reliable car.
As for difficult to work on? Not at all. There are some things that are awkward but you won't find a better support network for an owner than this place.
Cold weather pack? What else was included in it?Wooly hat & gloves.
