Crank sensor price depends on engine number (there are 3 different ones).
Trade club price is up to £50ish. Just as easy to buy off ebay.

Fitting is simple and the cable is long enough to run up the side of the brake pipes and away from the exhaust. :)

Im in Plymouth if thats any help.  Ive just (like last week) bought a crank sensor for my V6 - mine was £40 + Vat on trade card.  Apparently there are at least two types of crank sensor fitted - for mine, one is ~ £40, the other £56 +vat on trade, or these are £54.50 / £75.00 retail.  My sensor had the part number on it so I could see which one I had...

Join Autobahnstormers - send them a cheque for 20 quid and you get a membership pack including a trade card for Vaux.  See http://www.autobahnstormers.co.uk/ for more info.  Also search the forum where there are some good snippets of advice such as going on a quiet day the first time you use it...

ABS is best place to quickly get one if you need it quick. MIG are cheaper, but seem longer to get card through. VXON, as far as I know, haven't given out any trade club cards after a year of promises...

You are correct, still nothing - although the Halfords one they did send has been coming in handy - as much as I resented giving them money the halfords card is good when you need something there and then, such as tools or autobox fluid (would you believe the vauxhall dealer couldn't work out which one I was supposed to use?! - Actually...you probably would believe that..)

Halfords does things to you... I went into Halfords yesterday to buy a tyre tread depth gauge.

I bought a cheap oil filter for my wife's Toyota (is Halfords own-brand any good?), an oil filter wrench (just in case), hose clip pliers (quite expensive @ £14.99), 2xRad cleaning stuff bottles (for the planned summer flush), and a fluorescent wrist band (for the kids).

It was only when I was already on my way back home that I realised I actually forgot to buy the tyre tread gauge...  :(

I think it's worth it for the Halfords Trade Card, I've saved more than a years membership on oil filters, air filters, plugs etc. for Mrs AA's clit.
