For those looking for nearby accommodation (cant vouch for any, as never used them)
B&B - http://www.brackleyoaks.co.uk/ - about 150yrds from venue, heard its really expensive. Few others on Banbury Road, about 1.5m from venue, parking often an issue though.
Crown Hotel - http://www.thecrownhotelbrackley.co.uk/ - Town Centre, about 1.5m away, heard conflicting reports
Premier Inn at Brackley Hatch/Silverstone - about 6m away
If Entwood/AA or any other pikey (:P) thinks of coming, 2 caravan sites, one on outskirts near Tesco, other just the other side of Turweston.
-
Might be a Travelodge at M40 services, about 6m away, but would suggest the Premier Inn at the Brackley Hatch/Silverstone is a nicer environment, and has a (food orientated) pub The Green Man on the same site

Unfortunately we won't be able to make this, as I'm already committed to running a caravan event for 40 odd vans that bank holiday weekend .. :(
-
I should be able to make it :y
I will bring big berta and I should have the bed tent sorted by then too ::)
-
Maybe unless the ABS crew have a car show organised for that day
-
Notts Classic Car Show :-\
-
I'll try to make this one.

Your not looking too well Al, sicky.
I'm struggling at the moment due to it being a bank holiday, and the money aspect,as we get a very good deal for bank holidays, and it's handy as IL be off to varcheland soon afterwards.

And they wonder why they struggle with staffing, bloody pointy shoe managers.

Can confirm that I will be attending. :y
-
I am still unsure as things are really upside down at the moment
nothing to do with cars. Life :(
-
Me & SWMBO now confirming attendance . Doing a day out on a steam train on the Sunday somewhere, staying over & then straight to Terbs meet on Monday morning ish :y
-
Sadly, (I was at boarding school at Brackley) I shall miss this, as we are off on holiday early AM on the 7th, and I have reached an age when departure preparations are somewhat prolonged. :(

Have yer been, Walter? ;D

Went for a wander round there at lunchtime, but before it was lunch for nursery. Blimey that carpark has shrunk. I guess the do gooders insist there must be a million ultra wide spaces for biff badge holders, so they can get their wheelchairs out so they can play rugby...

Are you implying there will be "oil spills" from our omega underbody anti corrosion distribution systems :o

Nope, just the oily bits ;)

the oily bits are meant to drip oil on the rusty bits ..... NO :-\
-
Nope.
-
Vague possible as I will actually be in England then. Funeral in Leicester on the 1st then up to Scarborough.
BigGriffin is in varcheland so I have had to leave ( one in , one out rule. Not personal) ;D
-
Bumpy bump reminder :y
-
Yes....come on all you Omega Owners....this may possibly be one of the last meetings to show off your Omega. They are fast disappearing, but even if you don't have an Omega, and are still Forum active , come along. Always good for a chat and a laugh. :)
Put names to faces.
-
Its a week today :).
I probably wont bring our Omega. Or any other car for that matter. I can walk there, and stagger back.
-
Although I might potentially bring the battlebus, so we have some handtools onsite etc.

Bring your Omega TB
I'm bringing my omega, the boot of which has enough tools to strip and rebuild most cars/light commercials :P
The more omegas we can get together, before they all rust away and are no more ;D the better, photo opportunity :-\

I can quite happily drag any Omegas home with Big Berta should they fall apart on site ;D

I have three omegas, love to bring them all but only drive one ;D

I have just been around to the Rugby club.....its got a carpark for about sixty cars, similar to my Wycombe venue. Also a nice big clubroom upstairs, with a south facing balcony, and a kitchen. Not a comfy as Wycombe, but still good.
Now.....my son has offered to open the bar if enough people want a drink. Obviously drink/drive limits. I don't want to muck his day up if no-one uses the bar. We can do hot sausages in rolls as per Wycombe if interested. Dave the Builder has offered to bring a few fattening foods !!! Mrs TB has offered to help swmbo in the kitchen. We will do some snacky bits, and I expect some rolls of some sort.
If the bar is not likely to be required, my son has said we could either bring our own booze/drinks, or he will get cans of coke out, etc, or wine.
TB.....is H coming, or the other half. Love to see them again.
-
Sounds good. :y
Won't be requiring the bar personally but sausage baps and pop sounds good - will obviously contribute towards the costs.
-
I doubt many people will be able to drink alcohol :-\
does the bar sell cold pop Mr Terbert ?
cakes and donuts are not "fattening" ???
-
We shall put out some cans of beer, some wine, and fizzy cans, etc. Saves my son having to do the bar.
All food and drink will be donations, the same as we did at Wycombe.
If there is any money over, and also as we are not paying for the venue, if anyone wants to make a donation, my son and daughter are doing a 'Moonlight ascent of Snowdon' in June, in aid of the Altzheimers Society, as my mum died from the disease, and my best friend, (my daughters godfather) who taught them/me all about hiking, climbing, camping, etc, has the disease, and sadly has now has had to be sectioned, due to becoming violent.
On a lighter note....fingers crossed on the weather, but at least we have a clubroom :)
Oh....please NO drifting, wheelspins, etc, in the carpark !!!!! :)
-
Evening all,
Count me in for this one too - be great to catch up with you all again after so long.
Incy tincy weeney slightly hidden agenda - I still have my snowflakes for sale if anyone is interested (see Bits For Sale thread) which I can bring along. If no one is interested I'll be there anyway :y in its replacement.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers
Ian.
-
Hey, Ian.….it will be good to see you again.....:)
-
I'll be driving up and back the same day so very little if any booze for me.
I shall bring some nosh for the BBQ though, nom nom.... :P :y
-
We haven't got a BBQ....swmbo cooks in the kitchen !!!! :)
-
Dave the Builder + 1 (Mrs Builder) in 2003 omega v6 in Rare star silver 3 ;D
VXL V6 (and Possibly Mrs) in an Omega.... whichever one has enough fuel in the tank on the day! ::)
Terbert and Mrs Terbert.....(possibly and grandson), and Ural Mountain Green 2003 CD Saloon. :)
TB and Mrs TB - probably using Shanks Pony for transport
It's a 100 mile trip from Somerset for me, but I hope to be there, in my old shape, tatty, blue, 2.5 Omega estate, sporting 3 items off other Omegas.
-

It will be nice to meet you Terry
I'm sure the scrutineers won't be too harsh ;)

they are dropping like flies :(

I'll bring a broom, so that I can sweep up any bits that fall off my wheel arch. ::)

Be good to see you, Terry.....possibly no longer, maybe even shorter trip than Wycombe was. :)

Been there, done that :P.
Although members should also be aware that there is a kiddies playground about 50yrds away, and probably 4 or 5 more within 800yrds, and snowflake parents cannot control their little darlings, so worth paying attention.
Those members travelling southbound on the M40 need to be aware that the speed camera in a village Farthinghoe between Jnc11 and Brackley is usually pretty sensitive. And those travelling from the M1 need to know there is a camera right at the top of the hill on the climb from the M1, and another just past Silverstone.
-
TB.....is H coming, or the other half. Love to see them again.
They are aware, and I heard at least one of them was a Likely.
-
If any body wants bits, eg AR35, pair refurbished headlights, wings. See for sale section,, etc I might get permission to attend :D
-
Seems as though I won't be making this after all as once again I can't trust it to make the distance >:( and step daughter still has the V70.
-
See you all at 11. I'll try not to be late ;D
I'll bring a Tech2, and if I CBA to bring a car, I'll bung some hand tools in
-
Might be able to attend, be about 1300 ish if I can get a pass.
-
Currently working a late shift. Will be along once I am up :y
Will bring various bits and pieces :y
-
I'll try to be there for 11, traffic permitting
-
Thanks to everyone for trying to make it. I think Wycombe meets surpassed what we can expect nowadays, but Brackley is quite central....but even if you don't have an Omega, pop along and lets see what you are in now !!
Chris will be cooking hot sausages in rolls, we have French bread, with egg mayo rolls, etc, small sausage rolls....Dave the builder is bringing donuts and cakes.....and there will be soft drinks. I am hoping a certain local chap will come along (not TB) with his lovely wife, who I haven't seen for a couple of years.
I think my grandson is coming with his K10 Micra, which he is doing up....the car is 26 years old, and has 45,000 on the clock. Also his Smobey, which he has customised, and gets calls from car shows to exhibit it on stands along with the likes of Bugatti's Ferrari's etc !!!!!! :)
What a bonus, if TB brings the Tech2....a great opportunity to get a tune up.....
Look forward to seeing you all :)
-
Leaving shortly, bringing a few bits and bobs with me :y
-
Brace ya self's, filling boot with bits to come to brackly leaving in bout half hour. :y

Apologies for not making it yesterday. Something unexpected cropped up which meant a last-minute change of plans.
I hope Aaron was not too upset at not getting a play in Big Berta :D
-
Thanks to Tony and Christine for looking after us and organising yesterday. Was great to see everyone. :y
Not sure 4 big blokes have ever before been launched at such speed down a country lane in an estate car thanks to Robsey's project. ;D

My camera clock was an hour slow, both were taken at about 1.40pm.
Great meeting, Tony. Let's do it again soon, while we still have roadworthy Omegas. I doubt mine will last much longer.
-
Correction, time was 12.40pm. It was a rolling event, 11am-5pm, so some members left early, and others arrived later. Weather was overcast and cold for May.
-
Glad you boys got to meet up and play with each other. :)
-
Great photographs, Ian.
Thanks Terry - glad you got some group shots in too - nice one :y
Cheers
Ian.
-
Obviously I think its a great venue :P
Thanks to Terbs and Mrs Terbs for organising, and sorting food and drink. Also thanks to Dave the Builder for all the sugary snacks.
Was nice to see everyone again, and meet some new faces.
Roll on the next one. Come on, pull yer finger out Terbs ;).
But best of all, Mrs Terbs still hasn't forgiven him over the freezer thing ;D
-
It's not easy to see from the photos but 3 :o rare star silver cars made it to the meet .
......
Mrs Terbs still hasn't forgiven him over the freezer thing ;D
anyone can make a mistake ......
I once owned a ford escort :-[

A big thank you to Tony and Christine for sorting the venue, food and refreshments, and to Dave the Builder for the cakey bits. :y It's nice to have somewhere to retreat to and have a cuppa when it gets a bit chilly. :y
A great meet, good to catch up with everyone again and to meet some new faces. :y Good to see RobseyMV6's V8 LS1 close up to appreciate the work involved to get the finished article. :y
A big thank you to TB and VXL V6 for sorting my radio mute. :y Seeing my NCDC in a million bits was quite unnerving. ;D
