Auto dimming mirror is basically plug and play :y

Especially if you buy one that has the correct plug... Change over is around '51 :y

I believe traffic master ceased many years ago.My year 2000 Elite had this fitted from new but in the 8 or so years I've owned it I've never tried using the system.

If yours is not an Elite, you'll probably lack the loom for the autodimming/memory mirror.

If you just want autodimming, 3 of the 4 connections can be got from interior light, and the 4 from passenger kick panel.  Sure I wrote a guide - see Maintenance Guides section.

NCDx system - quite dated on features, but far better for accuracy than any portable unit - can be retrofitted with a modified TM loom, and some minor pin reassignments on PFL models.

Vectra C one won't fit... Plug is completely different. You need a non rain sensor Omega one.

However...

You say yours is a 2000 car... Is the front grill on the bonnet and are the window switches on the front doors?

If yes, then you'll probably find the plug tucked up behind the interior light... If it's an earlier non facelift car, you might be less fortunate  :-\

Yep, never understood that one. My Dad's Volvo seems to be designed on the basis that checking that your shoe laces are still tied up is more important than seeing where you're going at night. ::)

Might explain a lot about Volvo drivers... :-X
