Just checked my donor PFL MV6 and it's equipped with Trafficmaster, which suggests that I have all the tools -and the additional loom - for the job. Can you advise regarding what is required with the TM loom and how it incorporates into the equation? I'm keen to crack on and get this installed, but am a little unsure about the following. This might be pretty simple stuff, but you know what it's like when you over-complicate/can't read between the lines as you get to grips with something. I will no doubt wonder what all the fuss was about when I've finished the job!

1. How is the Trafficmaster loom is used in this setup
2. Joining pins 1 and 32 - is this a direct link between pin 32 of the 32-way GID/CID connector and pin 1 of the 12-way CID connector?
3. According to the instructions at http://home.btconnect.com/nickargue/OmegaSatNav.htm, pin 17 and 18 of the 36-way connector both feed into pin 2 of the 12-way connector? Does this mean that the wires are connected prior to a single terminal that goes into pin 2?

Cheers chaps, the more info you can give me at this stage, the better tbh. I might even be able to put an up to date guide together afterwards!  :y

Where would you join pins 1 and 32? Still unsure about this Trafficmaster loom business, did you use it like an extension cable or summink? Any info gratefully appreciated!
In my case, I did it within the CID

How are you planning on doing the satnav aerial?

I have a satnav aerial here. Came from the donor vehicle along with the 12-pin connector etc. I presume this is a straightforward swap with my poverty-spec aerial?

Ah, you mean pin 1 and 32 of the 32-way CID connector? Not two different blocks (as I thought you meant!)?

Correct. Only required if you need diagnostic tools to work.

I'm still not clear on the use of the Trafficmaster loom. Is this a wire/terminal donor to use in place of chopping the dash loom? e.g. removing wires from the Trafficmaster loom to use to link points between connecting blocks?

You need the trafficmaster loom to graft the 12 Pin plug and loom onto and take the CAN bus from.

And to move 2 wires that go to the display.

I need to look upstairs if I still have the one I built for Goldie, but sadly, I'm currently lacking the ability to get the steps out to look in the right place  :-[

I have no idea what this means. Is it a self-inflicted ailment by any chance?! Perhaps you could instruct a minion to investigate on your/my behalf?!  ;D

Well, my foot is almost recovered, so I'll see if I can get up on the desk and reach it.

Ah, I didn't realise that you were seriously incapacitated! I thought your earlier comment referred to a hangover! :/

Thanks for your efforts anyway. I'll await further info when you're mobile - struggling to work out what's what atm.

I've looked, but can't find it.

Pretty certain it was just 2 of the wires going to MID were swapped on to the CAN output from the HU. Plus the 6 wires for the CID's map mode of course.
