o2 sensor
« on: 03 September 2007, 09:44:48 »

Hi guys just to see if you could help with this prob. I have over the past few months had the EML coming on,, had the car check on the Tech 2 with live data and told that it was one of the 2nd bank 02 sensor not heating up right. Change it but could not get hold of a genuine one the EML light is back on aging today could this be becuase it was not a genuine one. There is no change to the runing of the car and not in Limp mode.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Thanks.

PS would any one know how much there are the car is a 2001 3.2 and it is the 02 sensor after the cat,s.   thanks.

Did the EML come on immediately after you put the new sensor on? If not you may have another issue.

Was the code a 'present' one or historic?

it was a present one. If it is this 02 sensor and a new genuine one is fitted with this take the EML light of the dash.

I think the EML light goes out if the engine is started a certain number of times (e.g. 20 or similar) while the fault is no longer present. So it will not go out immediatly. Someone else may confirm....

It should go out on next clean start - code will remain longer.
