General Discussion Area / Bugger! I broke my Xperia....

I dropped my phone onto a tiled floor a couple of days ago and it appears that the mic is not working.    It's OK on speaker phone mode, but people can't hear me on normal mode.    All other functions like internet, camera etc seem fine. 

I've no phone insurance, so what to do?   

1) Take it back to 3 with innocent outrage and demand a replacement/free repair? 

2) Take it to dodgy backstreet shop for repair? 

3) Revert to my old phone for a couple of months when I'm due an upgrade anyway? 

4) Speak to everyone on speaker phone and let the world and his dog eavesdrop on my conversations. 

5) Chuck it in the bin and live in the stone age, on the basis that the only people that phone me are demanding money/favours!     

Sigh! As a certain rubber fetishist ex OOFer might say.

That's,been advertised before, twice,I think,never made its price and was offered with different wheels, if needed.

Dew know I reckon you're right there bg!  I think it had black alloys and was priced at about £1750?    £750 seems much more reasonable!

Mine has a Prins VSI system which was installed at 56000 ish miles and I've just taken her through 230,000 miles.    No valvecare on it either. 

Any problems I've had with it have been related to general engine problems such as coolant leaks, rather than the LPG system itself. 

So I'd say it's a good advert for Prins!  Maybe I should contact them and they'll give me a large cash reward!

Prins prices. From £1680/£2100 inc VAT depending on the system you go for.    So assuming Prins will be the most expensive, you can work downwards from there for a fully installed system.

I would like to see,some of you do better.

Go on just about any kit car forum or magazine and you'll see many, many better examples, all built in peoples garages at home..

The same can be said of cars built by professional car manufacturers.

Yes, those connections into the plenum are strange.  What are they for?    The ECU mounting wouldn't bother me too much as mines in a similar place and hasn't given me any grief.

People not indicating on roundabouts really gets my goat.   

You'd think it would be reasonable to assume that someone not indicating would be planning to go straight across the roundabout.  I think that most times I have made this assumption, I've got it wrong and the other driver is actually turning right.    Of course it's my fault for pulling out in front of them!     

Assumption is the mother of all roundabout accidents!

Smart motorways are all well and good until someone falls asleep in the control room. 

A few months ago I was driving around the western M25 and all the gantry signs were showing 40, but it was 8pm, not a great deal of traffic and no accidents or hold ups.   

I assumed that they had been left like that from the rush hour.....    

Or...the motorway is only smart if the operator is smart. So it depends on where you are in the country. In the West Country, yokels will have it set at 10mph for their haywains.

No smart roads around here, just clogged up ones especially in the summer with all the caravanists.

Not controlled from any control room, they are done by traffic sensors measuring volumes of cars automatically

Sensors must have fallen asleep then...
