new key

can anyone tell me how long it would take to reprogram a new key
(for my mig)

If I am not mistaken you will need the CAR PASS which came with the car, its credit card size and is usually in with the handbook etc, this has the necessary codes on it. If you haven't got it you can get a replacement from a VX dealer, about £25 IIRC. The part of the key which contains the battery etc can be got seperately and use your existing metal part I think, once you have these a dealer or someone with Tech 2 can re-programme your key.
Someone may correct me on this as some of the mobile key specialists may have access to the software by now.

 iam having it done on Thursday and the lads not done one before hence the question
now i think about  is It a good idea to let him practice on mine  :-/ :-/

if the bloke doesn't do my key in 2 mins do i up set him and tell him your time ???

it should be possible in around 45s - with 10s being tech2 boot up time
