I would concede, my experience of Three (coverage wise) was pretty good when I stayed near Scarborogh, and visit the moors etc.  I think the rural parts there should be reasonably easy to provide good coverage due to landscape and limited people using it.

(My experience of Three's helldesk, and the local Three shop in Scarborough were less impressive ;D)
Hmmmm......I just get my phone at the three shop in Barnsley and say "See you in two years". Never been between times.  ;D

And I don't need an expensive gayphone or the like. Samsung J3 2018 does me just fine. 2Gb, unlimited texts and minutes for £15 a month.

Three, bless 'em, had apparently sent me the wrong SIM. So Helldesk sent me to shop, shop sent me to helldesk.  Shop and helldesk refused to talk to each other.

I pay £7.50 for my 6Gb, unlimited texts, but only 250mins....    ….but as I don't have friends, the limit mins is still about 150-200 more than I need ;D

The other shock is that I know where the under pinning comes from and I've  driven dozens of them but the Scab rides and handles much more securely :y

To be fair, it hasn't been updated since 2013.
And the map will be 12-24 months out of date at that point as well...   ...though in reality, not many roads have been completed in that time frame, aside from new housing estates etc.

So whats wrong with it, just roads are out of date, or something else (that an update wont fix)?  I always maintain that any factory fitted one is leagues ahead of any portable unit.  Even the NCDC in Omegas is a very, very good unit compared to even modern portable units, apart from even the newest maps are now 10yrs our of date (and millennials will get hung up on lack of postcodes). NCDC isn't the easiest to use, mind, beyond the basic "take me to this address"

Been very happy with mine tbh, Mine is the fully built in Comand though.
I wanted to update mine for 3 main areas:
1, My Commute - I use satnav there and back to let me know if there are areas I need to avoid,  It didnt know about a new major road into Crewe, which is often the best route in when its busy.
2, The Mersey Gateway - This is a new mersey crossing, Old Runcorn / Widnes bridge currently shut too, can be a bit awkward to navigate when it thinks your in the river!
3, There is a kind of Stockport 'relief road / bypass' that starts at Manchester Airport, lets you bypass a load of Motorway / traffic which is handy visiting family.

So the updates are going to prove valuable to me, The extra roundabouts / housing developments / poi's are all a bonus too, as it the updated gracenote db.

Ive the maps and instructions too now for when AA fancies a try at updating his.

Ah, so all the road building has been happening up North then ;D.

as it the updated gracenote db.
I can find next to no information about updating Gracenote on mine.  The Jag forums are no help, as the standard answer is to take it to a dealer, and I'd wager most dealers wouldn't have a clue.

Updating the maps does not appear to update Gracenote on mine. The Volvo version of mine allows update of Gracenote via USB, but mine doesn't recognise that.
