bottom line.....    they need to learn to budget,  and be used to paying a sensible figure,  i'm not housing them for ever....      and frankly, the way they go through my fridge , freezer, laundry stuff, and tool kits....   they damn well ought to be paying twice that.

£300 a month.

rising to £400 if they earn more than their mum.

round here, that's less than the cost of a bedsit,  even before you start talking about food and laundry and parental taxi services.

sort of ditto...... who gives a crapple ?    i like my iphone 3GS just fine......   and my ageing irreplaceable  17" Macbook pro, (with Pci-express slot, and firewire and DVI , )  and my old tower format Mac Pro workstation....  (WITH PCI-e slots !!!  wooohoo , so i can actually use the specialist audio  DSP cards i have !!!  )

don't want an iBiscuit-Tin-Pro , that can;t interface with half the stuff i use.

don't want a stupid small screen laptop ....  when what i do "on location"  requires screen real estate AND portability....

don't need another row of icons on my phone thanks.... it makes phone calls really quite well...

iPad....   okay,   i'd quite like one, for work use,   and when the studio needs to replace it's control surface ,  i might just get one....   as it's cheaper than a new control surface.... but then i'd have to leave it at the studio......

spine not up to digging myself,   but i DO have a very good , very reasonable groundworks company in my pocket.....    if we had a whip round......  ?

just had ground levelled, (far end down by 375mm ,   (8mx5m foundations dug, steelwork formed and concrete poured (350x450 ring beam and slab) and finished at the end of a 70 metre garden with restricted access......   all waste removed ,  soak away dug and refilled,  services conduit laid , and so on...

for a client ,   whole job in at under 5 grand.

they cover the whole country as they do groundworks for a number of major retailers, (like Iceland, and Sainsbury)

Having been down that road on a forum elsewhere, as admin,    I have to agree with TB,   it can make it very difficult.... nigh on impossible not to create a two or three tier effect in the community......        however,   that's not to say it is impossible to accept donations....   given very clear and concise stipulations.

a paypal account,  with a link to it in the forum rules, and a stipulation that anonymous donations must never be revealed or even alluded to, even in jest,   and that management will use inverse moderation and regulation on anyone doing so.....     eg, come down harder rather than softer if they step out of line. and that waving it about will result in a ban... or  at very least post count reset,  perhaps depending on how out of line the member has been.....

there's a risk that the puerile might start a new sport,  trying to find the line,  so personally i'd just ban them.

be clear from the outset that no one is ever above the rules, and the grown ups will go along with it....  anyone stupid enough to step outside of that deserves the idiotting they're gonna get.

those of us that feel Jaime and co should at least not have to fork out of their own pockets, can support them,   and any residuals , if there are such,  can be used each year at newent for a curry and beer.

no one of any sense is going to insist on full accountings......    it's simply a "club pot" , not income for the admins....

cling film then cap.

the point is to stop the breather allowing the pressure to equalise on top, thus helping slow the leak .

visiting brother in germany,  2 out of three of my 3.0 v6 elites had the needle significantly past 140 ,  although we all know they over read....

the mv6 clocked itself at 150 ,   but again,  we all know they over read .....    but pretty good bet on 140 actual speed...
