They say I can get an extra 45bhp for my Mondeo or alternatively an extra 20 bhp and 10% fuel saving. I think I have that right?  ???  :-\

Yes....You have that about right. :y

Personally I wouldn't both with an 'economy tune'. Life is too short. ;)

Yes 20 bhp hardly seems worth the effort.  :-\

Although with 10% fuel savings I'd pay for it in about 43 fill ups at todays fuel prices!*  :y

* Other fuel prices are available.  ;D

Up to 10% is not the same as 10%. :)

Omega is N/A.....any returns would be small so probably not worth the expense.

I've been using the Mondeo as my daily for the last couple of weeks and even though it goes quite well with its Transit engine, an extra 45 bhp is tempting.  :-\  ::)

We had someone on here a few years ago who was doing something like that. I think he was from foreign parts, like the I.O.W. or Wales. ::)

What engine Sir Tig? My 2.0L ecotec doesn't need any more. ::)

Some available gains are impressive, I know the Saab turbo petrols respond well, as does the ubiquitous VAG 2.0 turbo petrol that's in pretty much everything these days.

I've always wondered about the merits of a plug in box Vs a 'proper' remap though.  ??? Clearly the former is more easily removed, but I wonder if it's as good for the engine.  :-\

2.2TDCi producing 172 bhp, so allegedly it could be boosted to 217 bhp.  :)

I assume an extra 45 bhp would give a noticable difference in performance?  ???  :-\

I also assume that I can send the bills for the extra fuel that I'll consume to Lord Opti, as it will be his fault!  :)
