Omega General Help / Omega Gearbox replacement , how much
« on: 10 June 2016, 20:32:09 »
 Hello guys,
I sold my 2.2 omega , next time it be 3.2 back again :)
but as well i sold my spare AR25 and now happy owner of box is asking me because he don't know how much he should expect to pay for fitting new box.
What would you say is the fair price for replacing the box on 2.6 v6 ?
or maybe someone live close to him ? he is in Trowbridge, Wiltshire ( or any place what would not charge him too much)

thank you and any response be very appreciated :)

don't know really , I put her on Ebay but every time I sit in her :'(  I just want to remove the auction.
Don't want to keep 3 cars really when Im using only one, the new saab is a new project ( I will have a quite few things to sort it out on it) and then.

But I could have more space in the garage probably I could keep Omega in it. ( just to look on her sometimes :)

Nice choice. I've been running one for a couple of years.

What do you need to know?
Thank you.
I have few questions,
that engine looks fun even can't see where is air filter .
is it hard to work on ? because i read abut engine sludge problem on them so first step I would like to clean the sump and cover gasket etc.
I think front bearing and rear shock need replacing -have you don it any of these ?
and how reliable they are in general.

I would try using soldering iron first to melt the plastic where the hole is, and after that use the plastic weld .
there is video on youtube where guy repair the radiator that way. after 2 yrs. still no leak

Hello
I just replaced the timing belt on my 2.2 and I was using DVD
On DVD the new tensioner is tensioned clockwise (when new belt)
now I was searching about timing belt change "Haynes" etc. show to always tension the tensioner anti-clockwise
should I check the tensioner and do it anti-clockwise ?
here is some post about Anti-clockwise http://www.courtenaysport.co.uk/blog/2014/09/cambelt-and-timing-information-z20lex-engines/

what should I do, just leave it or correct it ?

General Car Chat / Re: Insignia help
« on: 13 April 2016, 18:50:32 »
I had Insignia Elite 2 yrs ago, and make sure that got the camera , because thats very very rare,
there is season which looks like camera very close to the mirror but it is for detecting lights of incoming vehicles and signs ( but only for light )

If he got camera for speed readings - it must be option in the main screen on the computer.

Anyway if I would consider to buy something like that , my choice be definitely VXR8  - and not because I'm sticking with vauxhall, but because i think its better in any angle :)
