Thanks for further clarification,Jim.

Problem is lots of cost in seals and gaskets just to get to them and as only recently had belt/pullies done and both cam covers gaskets I will need to weigh up...dirty engine or lots of work and money again :(

Leave it til the next time your in that area ;-)

Not necessarily... Could be draining down behind the rear cover ;)

Wouldn't be visible without removing the cam pulley :y

+1 for cam seals - I used to get exactly the same puddle of oil that seemed to come from the oil pressure switch but it continued after fitting a new one.

I had to do the head gaskets (YES THEY DO FAIL) and once the rear timing cover came off it was quite obvious that the oil was coming from the cam seals.  All dry as a bone now, probably the only Omega I've owned that has a nice clean engine!

Hi folks

The clear plastic bezel around the drivers door lock has disintegrated on my '99 mini facelift and is allowing water inside the door when it rains.  This is the part that effectively forms a seal between the lock barrel and the door handle plate.

Anyone got a spare, happy to buy a complete door handle and since this part is not colour coded the colour makes no difference :)

Part 21 as highlighted.

Cheers,
Stephen

Sounds like crank sensor to me, but also, where was the new fuel from?  Could be worth trying a couple of gallons from a different source.

82
Many thanks mate

Just deciding whether I go used, or new route. New of course means remove my original sensor and refit. Will be in touch  :y

Ah, got ya.  ;)

83
DBG, the cats I pm'd you about have the sensors still in them - were working fine when removed  ;)

If it's auto, then I have a spare gear selector stick here, pm me if interested.

Don't have any spare door grab inserts though I'm afraid, the clips are bad for breaking off so you may struggle to get good ones, many held in with blu-tac/similar I'm sure, possibly still available from VX,

After a working pair of BOSE front door main speakers to keep as spares - I've had both fail previously (also had the amp fail in the past but I have a good spare).

87
As title, need a BOSE amp for a '99 pre-facelift.

Dampness in the boot has killed the current one.

Cheers

Pretty sure you just slide it down between the glass and the channel.  Pop the door trim off if you want to get in there and check it's properly seated but don't think there's much room for it to go anywhere off course.

Good point Tunnie.

Also liking the idea of a 20 LET lump

Hmmm... not sounding like a go-er.

Might just buy it for the 4 good doors.

Thanks for the replies.
