Might be an idea worth considering Eric.

With the Swansea - Cork ferry being reintroduced soon, I'd certainly be interested.

If time allowed might attend myself, Dublins only 2 hours away now and I could fill the tank as well!

the exchange rate makes the difference but you need to buy a lot of it to make it worth your while. If im in the south i always try to fill up but other than that its not worth my while. The hgv's are the only ones who really benifit.

Okay, I'm interested, (subject to being suitably recuperated), so a few questions:
Do we need passports when travelling from Wales to the Emerald Isle?
Have you set a date for the proceedings?
Have you got a venue sorted?

From the Foreign Office website:-

Ireland, along with the UK, is a member of the Common Travel Area.  This means that British Citizens do not require a passport to visit Ireland. However, Irish immigration officers will check the IDs of all passengers arriving by air from the UK and most airlines will not carry passengers to and from Ireland unless they have seen satisfactory photographic ID before boarding.  Travellers to Ireland are therefore advised to take their British passports or a National Identity Card (see the website of the Identity and Passport Service (IPS)) with them.   Other than passports, some carriers may accept other types of photographic ID.

This means you can go to Southern Ireland with only photo ID. I think flying over requires passport.

PS. Hope you are feeling better Byron :y
