Never do cards it’s just wasteful imho .Swtsmbo does all that stuff including present buying and wrapping .
I put up the outside lights that’s my contribution and spend the next 3 weeks counting down to removing them .

No tacky, cheesy outside lights here. I leave that to the rest of the street.

Putting up the tree has been mentioned today. Ive got a week off work, so a bit short on excuses. Might convert to Judaism for next year so I can really ignore the whole Commercefest altogether.

It will be my job to get it out of the loft and set it in the designated spot. After that I don't plan on getting involved if I can help it.

I converted to atheism several years ago. Although I've rung for three carol services so far this week, and expect to do at least three more plus a wedding on Friday. Unfortunately, bells tend to only be installed in churches ;D

How do you know they aren’t all in the same care home now? That would explain quite a lot. E.g. nowt on TV

I've often wondered if Lord Opti and Uncle STEMO are in the same care home and as they're both too deaf to hear each other, they come on here to bicker!  ;D

...was handed over today so that's me done with Xmas for another year :y Now to get ready for Easter which one of my daughters who works at a well known supermarket informs me will start on 26th December :o

Nestles Easter eggs were being made since last Aug/Sept  :y :y

Yes, we used to place our stores Christmas product requirements in May/June, with Easter products in July/August.

The manufacturers started their production runs before those dates ;)
Times have moved on LZ.

Now, you order your Boxing Day sales stuff in the previous winter ;), assuming its not like food and similar with a BBE

We were talking about Easter Eggs TB, so best before dates with chocolate have remained the same.  Nestle alone this year produced 13.5 million eggs from just their Halifax plant alone. They cannot be produced earlier than about June to September because of their “shelf life” limitations, although cold stores are used.

Yes, of course, non-food product is manufactured all year round, especially that from deepest China ;D ;)

With product for Boxing Day and before that now, Black Friday, that is quite another matter and is one of the tricks of the trade, being a game of smoke and mirrors when it comes to pricing. It is also so often today “special purchases” of tat that the public fall for! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)
