Another successful MOT on Mrs AA's 14 year old Astra (16,000 miles from new).
congratulations on the pass  :)

I took Mrs Builder's racing car shooting brake shopping trolley, 14 year old Astra (107,400 miles from new).
this morning for MOT
pass, no advisories  :)

I got one advisory, slight corrosion on front subframe.
Mrs Builder's had light surface rust , I rubbed it off and applied curust ,then metal protection paint

That's what I plan to do :y

Should serve you well! I'm looking for a pre '06 one as I'm not nearly wealthy enough to pay £45 per month in road tax ;)

08 should have a fair amount of toys too, iirc they just weren't selling at that time so they were pushing fully loaded examples on anyone who seemed vaguely interested.

The mighty  Signum falls in the almost £50 a month tax bracket. Worth every penny....... ::) ;)

Yes......I feel the mighty Signum would be better with four driven wheels.

If not all four then the back wheels....... :-\

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on how it puts that down, through the front wheels. Most I've ever put through front wheels is 190 (MGZT), 225/45/18's all round. It took off fine, cornered on rails but tramlined like a bastard.

Sadly, the 9-5 (almost) never got the 2.8. It only got that engine in the Insignia based "NG" 9-5 that was briefly available from 2010-2011 ish. And by briefly, I mean that I don't think any 2.8's were made in RHD, if there were, it will be a handful of examples.

For the previous one, (98-09) the 2.3 4 pot was as good as it got. Depending on how late the model, you got either 230, 250 or 260bhp.

The auto is (slightly) torque limited in 1st and 2nd vs the manual but neither will do much at the traffic light grand Prix. 30-80 mph is where the meat and potatoes are  8).

Henry, you might do well to check this gentleman out. His work is excellent:
