Nick's adventure in France replacing rear brake pads using nails and bits of wood have prompted me to check my brake pad stock. I find I have 3 boxes of front pads and none of rear pads. My TC supplier Drive Vauxhall Avon Street Bristol had no stock when I last enquired. I must order some, so need a part number. I have an old box here numbered 93169001 16 05 618 GR.06.311. Is that correct?

The pads can be obtained easily almost anywhere - it's the pins and clips for vented discs that are like gold dust.....

The genuine rear brake pads listed by Enceladus above come with fitting kit - springs and pins, probably the smaller size, I'll let you know. Also on the same site others list fitting kits for the 2.2 and the 3.2, which must be the bigger ones for aerated discs.

The genuine rear brake pads listed by Enceladus above come with fitting kit - springs and pins, probably the smaller size, I'll let you know. Also on the same site others list fitting kits for the 2.2 and the 3.2, which must be the bigger ones for aerated discs.
They are the smaller pins/springs for non vented. But the pads are the same.
I buy mine from this seller (and I get through a fair few ;D)

I checked rear pads when giving 3.2 a wash today, I popped new ones on about 3 years ago. Still plenty of meat on them.

Mine were fitted 6 years ago. The problem was one of them was stuck in the caliper, with what looked like cement dust(there was other evidence of that). This caused the inner friction material to come unstuck, and the outer pad to wear out. The disc is knackered. Rather frustrating, as there's several years use left in the other side. Once I'd cleaned all the crud out with the saw blade on my multi-tool, the old backing plate worked as it should. I was briefly tempted to just fit one new disc with the pair of pads I didn't use. But that sort of hackery isn't worth the £20 odd that I'd save.

Picked cement dust up from the road? Maybe worth blast with pressure washer every so often then, I'll make sure mine are clean

Pads arrived today. Pin length is 2.7/8", 73mm, retaining spring 2.1/8", 47mm wide. Without dismantling a brake to cheack, it looks like the vented disc size. Pic follows. What a joy it is to own a mass produced car with cheap parts readily available!

Looking at springs, I'd say non vented, but its been a while since I've had one apart (but judging by the noises, it won't be long!!)

And the pins and springs in the GM 9193476 kit should be correct for any Omega B with non vented discs. The price for the package still beats original GM pads on their own.

The pins never wear out, but the springs eventually rust apart at the rivet.
