Onboard Display Gone Dim
« on: 29 July 2018, 22:06:01 »

Hi Guys

The onboard screen display has gone dim but only on the one half, all of the diodes are still working in so far as there are no missing segments.
Does anyone have any idea what wrong with it?

Thanks for your help

Caught the adjuster next to the headlight switch? Its like a scroll wheel, I'm forever moving it when I clean the interior.

Surely an easy answer....? One of the bulbs gone, or loose. Sometimes goes on mine, swift slap to the dash top cures it! However, whipping out the MID isnt a long/arduous job, if you need to replace a bulb. Let me know if you want a quick 'howto'  :y

Hi GastronomicKleptomaniac

If only it were that simple, nah no chance, it's a bit difficult taking photos in the dark but for what its worth take a look at the image I've uploaded especially where I've maked it in red.

But thank you for your prompt reply

Diamond Black Geezer

Are these bulbs by any chance marked in red, I took this photo some time ago when I had the instrument cluster out for some other issue ages ago.

Diamond

I thought all the small character sections were made up from small diodes surely if they are 4 bulbs it wouldn't have any effect on the lettering if you get my meaning.

Cheers

Ah, well I'm coming from the perspective of a PFL with the 'basic' monochrome display, so yours could well be a more complex answer. However, yes, those are the bulbs, basically same as mine.
