Where is the best place to sell a car these days? I advertised my Zafira on autotrader last November/December and it didn't sell. I just put a years MOT on it so hopefully it would be easier this time.
I worked for a company for four days last month trading under my Limited Company. I got the job by recommendation from a friend and the site supervisor hired me. I left after four days because I needed public liability insurance which I didn't have (but I wasn't told this was a requirement by the supervisor when he hired me). I left on good terms and the supervisor was pleased with the work I had done.
I invoiced them last week and payment was due last Monday 30th March. I emailed them a reminder on Tuesday and asked if they could pay before the bank holidays. No payment or communication was received. I will send them a final reminder end of next week and mention that I will take legal action if they don't pay. What is the minimum notice period I have to give them by law before I start legal proceedings?
I'm guessing yes as I can't see a reason why not. I need to sell the Zafira, I tried to sell it last November/December but it was the wrong time of year I think. The MOT expires in May and the earliest date to test it and keep the expiry date is in mid April.
Should I wait a month or MOT it early? There is no pressing need to get rid of it immediately but sooner the better.
It turned up yesterday and I used to for the half hour or so it takes for the initial set up. Today the bugger won't turn on. Quick search on the internet revealed that I should take out the battery and press the power button for a minute but battery is inside so I'm not faffing about with that so its going back tomorrow.
Last bought one in 2009. I have no idea what's good and what's not and quite frankly it's mind numbing reading about SSD vs HDD etc.. My budget is £500 and there are hundreds at this price point. It will be mainly used for word processing, spreadsheets, internet and the odd videos.
Need to buy a rear brake hub (with bearing pressed in). They go for £40 each on ebay but could be Chinese crap. Eurocarparts wants £70 for one (with ABS - non ABS costs £40!)
Anyone know if it has a DMF fitted on the petrol models? Friend has one and someone told him his "DMF is on the way out". Symptoms are grinding in second and third though when I test drove it I did not notice it.
I need to get organised, my lever arch files aren't cutting it any more. Does anyone own one they can recommend or place to get something decent (under £80 - including suspension files) something like this one below.
I could just buy that one, but like everything else I would rather buy something decent once, so thought I get some first hand experience from you sophisticated people.
I keep on getting told I'm obsessed with Omegas but I guess quite a few of us are on this forum. So what are the alternatives for Omega money i.e £2k This can buy a late 3.2 with lowish miles with most common issues addressed. What else can I buy that is:
1. RWD 2. Fast (ish) 3. Spacious 4. Well equipped 5. Reasonable to maintain (fuel aside) which is largely due to OOF
Mercs and BMW of this era have intergalactic miles and can't be as cheap to maintain. Audi A4/A6, are the non Quattro models FWD? What about Jaguar S/X type or a Lexus?
