Boris is going to be the PM this time next month. I still don't know if I will vote for him, as I don't know who his opponent will be, but It wont make any difference. He,s a shoe in.

It's hard not to like Boris
.

He makes  his own entertainment  as he crashes through life like a boisterous 6 year old with learning difficulties and ADHD.

He is a 'character' where  Jeremy Hunt by comparison is a sterile lifeless individual. :-\

Personally, I think the job of PM will prove 'too big' for good old  BOJO....... :-\ Apparently he has the attention span of a goldfish. :)

It's hard to understand the appeal of Boris: a man who has wheedled his way into far too many chances and blown everyone of them.

I totally agree with that! :y :y

Boris would/will be a total disaster for not only country (will the country elect him during this process?;'NO! Which is another democratic failure >:( >:( :() but also for the Conservaties.

I, a committed right winger, most of the time outside of my Socialist traits, will not vote for the Conservates again all the time that, Bufoon is leading them. >:(

I was listening to an Islamic leader within the Conservative Party earlier and he was making a very clear point that Muslims within the party will not vote Conservative all the time he is the leader of the party.  He stated emphaticall that he had proved he cannot be trusted!  How bloody true, regardless of the religious point of view :y :y

That will be negated by all the Jews who won't vote Labour while Corbyn is leader.  :)

Im wondering if people are voting in the poll for who they think will be the next leader, or who they want to be the next leader ?  :-\
Cant see Javid stand a snowballs chance in hell tbh. - which is a good thing. He is a useless spineless little twerp.  :)

Good point.  The question was really intended to show who people would like to be PM not necessarily who they think will be.  ::)

Maybe I should change the question?  ???

Have a poll to see what the question should be?  ;D

MP's are,of course, fishing for a position in the next cabinet. There will be horse trading galore in dark corners.

I'm having a chuckle at the leftie/remainy crowd who are raging that about 120,000 middle class old white men get to choose who our next PM is.  ::)

They didn't seem impressed when I reminded them that they've spent the last three years slagging off the general public who don't know what they are voting for or asked who elected Gordon Brown.  ;D

I heard a report today that Nick Hancock is endorsing Boris. The fact that Hancock voted remain shows that he only has eyes on a top job under Boris and not sticking with his principles. Am i surprised, no.

If Boris is the one selected, not by us the people, or even everyday Conservatives, after all his usual avoidance of giving anyone a clear idea of what he can actually do with Brexit, let alone run the country, because it is feared by his camp that he is going to make the usual gaff, then we are doomed. It is all a farce as they, my party, have acted recently, let alone if they select Buffoon Boris as PM then his Government will be short term.

A General Election MUST be offered to the people to give the government, who does eventually lead us, a new element of credibility that the current lot have lost and cannot bring back with Boris ::) ::) ::) ::)

Why?  ???

If there is any chance of Corbin winning a GE then they should stick it out until '22, whoever wins this contest.  ::)

Because the Government, even if Boris, or whoever,  leads as PM has a very slim majority in the Commons.  Nothing would have changed so they will still have great difficulty in even pushing out a Green Paper, let alone be able to put intended new policy out in a White Paper, especially as the DUP do not support the Conservatives after the Brexit fiasco. Labour will also do everything now to make hay on the low public opinion of the Conservative Government, who are seen by even Conservatives such as me as being all over the place, with no central direction and one thought about anything, and will block all and everything they can.

Politics has lost all credibility, and no main party is free of that. Parliament has to resurrect that credibility and give the public a chance to have a vote on exactly what each party represents, and what policies they can now adhere to. Brexit is Brexit, the elephant in the room, but the life of Great Britain goes on and, especially when we leave the EU, strong individuals with strong party politics must be seen to be doing the very best for us, the people.  So a General Election should draw a line in the sand, put the recent past behind us, and give us the people our democracy back, well as much as our Representative Democracy will ever let us do!

In short, the selection of Boris, or whoever it is, to be Great Britain's Prime Minister has been done by a very small number of Conservative elite and this cannot be considered a sound democratic process for a long term, let alone even short term, Government.  Those elite  do not speak for me or you, but are acting on their own agendas. That is not democracy, and just makes everything we have seen over the last 3+ years even worse.

A General Election is the only way forward now for the sanity of the Country. :y

Let's just stay in Europe and have that nice Mr Corbyn as PM. Then we can spend all the money the conservatives have saved up and, in five years, when the Tories get back in, we can all go and live with Varche.

At the moment, the Brexit party is ahead in the polls and the Tories are in a solid 3rd place. For a Tory to wish for an election is to wish for either Farage or Corbyn in number 10.
Personally I would be happy to see *Farage in number 10, but would want someone to call in the generals if Corbyn won.

* As would 46% of Tory party members according to a poll this week.  :)
