Unfortunately my creaking door syndrome was fatal before I found the forums advice! Has anyone repaired such a fatality? I guess some welding would be required but any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers.

This is scareing me.  I was just thinking today that I needed to do mine sometime, and that I would need to be quick to get the How2 from the other site before it disappeared.  Someone must have read my mind,it's appeared here, spookey.

Could it be that  all Omega owners  brains are linked in some way?

no ... I wrote the original document on VxON, and rewrote it on here (albeit slightly altered) ... it will be staying on both sites for the benefit of everyone!

Unless the check strap itself is broken (unlikely) then I think yours may require welding ...

its not snapped,it feels like the pin(?) has come out the hole?????it moves freely from side to side but not up or down...help
just looked properly, the end that goes into the door is not attached to anything, there is no torx bolt,or plates like in pic 3 +4,just a hole and thats it! im presuming that the plate has snapped off in the door and that a new plate can be fixed on???
