Its Check up Day for my MV6
« on: 17 July 2006, 08:26:51 »

Shes off in half an hour to my mechanic mate to do all the jobs i cant be bothered doing. Actually - i never work on my main car in case something goes wrong and i am stranded. Ironically i am walking back from Garage to start stripping the CDX!!!

Anyone else get nervous when departed from there Omega - On MoT day or garage trips?
She is getting a full service - call it a major without timing and sparks - ha that be a minor then!! Cant be bothered doing fuel filters blah blah bah!

new handbrake shoes and new discs and pads all round if needed - think she will only need the h`brake shoes! Dragging and pulling to one side with a squeek of rear left wheel.

It shouldnt need discs and pads if they were done 18000 miles ago should it?
So heres hoping shes not going to relive my wallet.

When she comes back its a on with new centre caps, strip drivers door as the lock is sticking, then replace blown air con bulb.
Stage 3 - fit rear blind, replace two rear tyres - have the new ones, then sort out the rust!

If all that goes to plan * which it wont) its a real good soak for her.

finger crossed - update to follow  ;)

ok shes ready and waiting for a jolly good thrash :)

3 litre v6 service including fuel filter which was a mess apparenty, new handbrake shoes, new rear discs and new rear pads - the old ones just about crumbled!

All from the local vx dealer and fitted by my garage owning mate.
Intrested what this would have cost elsewhere in the country at high street prices. I feel justified in getting him to do this now.

car has been away 5 hours including lunch and cost £203 for all of the above fully inlcusive

good deal?
