As long as our welfare state is, arguably, the softest touch in Europe, we will always be ‘El Dorado’  not just to asylum seekers, but anyone from poorer countries. It also encourages our own wastrels, and facilitates the epidemic of single parents, family breakups, etc., just for starters.  >:(

For the first 6 months we were told that masks are pointless as they have little or no effect.

With the virus as it now is masks are primarily a placebo/comfort cushion for people who (perhaps) worry too much.

If people didn't suffer with OCD before this all started they will now.

I however should be forced to wear one 24/7 as I've been hit with the ugly stick.......although not as much as Al and the scouser. ;D

Possibly, but remember that,
even if vaxed, you can still carry the virus and spread it to other people, and none of the tests are 100% reliable.

Apropos Jags, back in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s farmers had done very well in the period after the war. A friend was in a Bucks pub and overheard a farmer talking to his friend.
“I bought I one of they ther Jaglers, but e’ll have ter go, I carn’t get but one hay bale in’t boot.”

Surely your wallet is lodged behind the counter at the local Jag dealership :D ;D
On the subject of moth I seem to get plagued with very small moths here just as I did last year.

You could buy an Audi, where they charge you for one of their staff to acquire all cash, cards and anything else that might be of value in your wallet. Including the wallet itself. This charge also include rubber gloves for when the bouncer ejects you from the showroom for looking poor....
I've often thought I'd like to win the lottery and wander into one of these showrooms in dirty jeans and a tee shirt. What fun.

Back in the 60's I had a mate who was a builder, he saved up, in cash, enough to buy a Ford Zepher.

He wandered into the Ford showroom in his builders gear, cash in a paper bag, and got ignored until he sat in one.

He should have done what I did in similar circumstances. About to buy the first of only 2 new cars I have ever bought, always for cash (cheque), midway through demonstrating the details of the R16 I was buying, a lady came into the showroom of the small dealership. The salesman(?) receptionist, promptly deserted me to deal with her car to be serviced. He ran after me as I walked out almost pleading. Too late, bought it elsewhere for a bigger discount. I had a similar experience recently in a BMW dealership, ignored for too long by sales who didn’t like the look of my overalls. One wonders what training these people get. The chances are the scruffier the punter, the more cash they have.

I fitted a performance chip to my 2.5td, I can’t remember the figures, but the performance increase was impressive, for only an hours work and ~ £70.  :y

You'd be better off using a laptop (or PC) to copy the contents of the SD card to a USB then putting the USB in the TV.

Samsung TVs can put other files on the USB or suggest formatting before use and you don't want to lose the video.

OK, as I don’t have anything with an SD slot, so I need an SD to USB adapter to load the SD cards into the MacBook Air laptop, then transfer them back onto a usb stick, which I can then plug in to the Samsung? :-\

Thanks Steve, I guess I need the USB adapter as my old tv has no SD slot.

I have three Kingston SD. Card adapters with SD(?) cards in them from my Spitfire flight. Can anyone advise what I need to connect them to my Samsung TV?

Yes you have to be sure that you clear all cookies before using Topcashback, I’ve had the same issue.

Yes, it was a stand-out day in my life. Fortunately my daughter is well paid, but nevertheless it was extremely generous of her. She also paid for herself, her husband and my wife to go up alongside for 10 minutes or so in a small air taxi to get airborne pics. My flight included two films from front and back of my cockpit for the flight duration. I haven't watched them yet as I haven't worked out what gizmo I need to connect it to the TV.
For anyone interested in WW2 aviation, B.of B. etc., I can thoroughly recommend it. Having spent my working life in aviation, starting my aircrew career on Shackletons and retiring on a modern jet, I had forgotten how basic the flying panels were on early A/C, all credit to our young forefathers who went up to fight in these planes, sometimes with as few as 10 hours solo.
