Salou
« on: 29 September 2013, 20:37:28 »

Just back from hols there, the place is teeming with Russians. I,ve never seen so many people look so cheesed
off to be on holiday in all my life. Hardly a smile between them.

As I found out when having a good drink of Vodka with my brother-in-law, who didn't tell me the Vodka was about 90% alcohol.  :o :-[

Salou is not a place to be stuck in at 5am in the morning with two kids while they try to find/deliver your hire car :(

Lateish flight diverted from Reus to Perpignan - coaches laid on but not for 4 hours.  Managed, by phoning round, to get a self drive hire car but had to drop it off in Salou next morning.  Had then to arrange to get my car, which was at Reus (Reus closed at night in those days so couldn't drive there), delivered into Salou so I could swap cars and drive south!  This was a few years back - before mobile phones were the norm!!

We stopped at the Imperial Appartment block ....... 10/15 min walk from the front. Really enjoyed the place ............ the kids were just about old enough that they could go to nearby theme park (the name of which escapes me  :-[)

Same on the Costa del Sol- plenty of Russians there too. They seem to have money too unlike many North Europeans!
