Omega General Help / Exhaust manifold to downpipe nuts.

Here I go with a stupid question.. what size are the nuts that hold the cat pipes to the manifold?. I ask because I've tried a 14mm and its too small i've also tried a 15mm and it seems to big are they AF or some other strange size or am I being a bit daft.

Removed the old exhaust and attempted to drill out what remained of the bolts that held the cats to the centre pipes... it goes without saying that I used half a dozen HSS bits and i still need to finish the nearside one when I buy half a dozen more.

I always put my handbrake on and when I'm sure its on properly I then put it into park.
i never leave it in park without the handbrake.

I had to glue mine back on after I attempted to remove it to change the bulb and promptly tore the lens off the rest of the unit..

Mine has started to go in this area on both sides but isn't as bad as that yet. if you can find someone who will cut out the rot and weld in fresh metal and paint it properly then you're doing well as all I ever seem to find is the bodge it and scarper brigade.

Its a pity i'm no good at welding (despite having 3 welders) because then I could repair my avengers as well as any omegas that come my way.

Started my wreck up and drove it down some dual carriageway and then brought it back and parked it on the driveway.

Does sound a bit like camshaft or lifters.. if its any consolation it sounds better than my 2.5 as it makes some god awful squealing rattling noises that again I really cant be bothered to sort out.

My one has already had the very area in the first picture welded up so god knows what its like now. and the nearside just underneath the holes on yours in the third pic mine is slowly disappearing. it just needs someone to do it properly and for a decent price.
