Ronnie Projects 10 & 11.....
« on: 09 August 2006, 17:22:41 »

Project 10 I supposedly bought last night during a phone call, whilst Mark and Laidback worked on a car outside. 1996 P-reg CDX Auto saloon in Black.

Project 11 I am trying to buy now, so no further details, except to say it isn't very old at all.

Ronnie,

Good luck with the projects!

If you spot a decent Late plate 2.6 CDX or Elite Saloon with a Manual Box give me a nudge!  You seem to have a radar device for a decent bargain omega!

I personally think that would have been a bad choice for no.11

I really don't like the way that is advertised....

A service book, but no receipts and a description that is, at best, ambiguous.

No, there is too little said there...

I think there are better cars for the money.

Would it matter?

I'm sure Ron could have thrown another engine together for it with some bits he'd have lying around in his kitchen.  ;)

I would have bought that just for me. Engine, little to go wrong on them, but a major serviec would have included Dis pack, leads, plugs, oil cooler, thermostat, full coolant flush, rockers, breathers, cambelt, tensioners, and that is about it for the engine except maybe an oil change or three.

Then, wishbones, discs all round, pads, rear shoes, handbrake cable. Then probably a new exhaust front to back, and a gearbox swap.. Probably around £500 investment, but then you would have a damned good 6 year old luxobarge you could use for 5 years.

Realistically a weeks work.

But, it could end up very cheap. Personally, I would not have mentioned the mileage and just sold it to someone who didn't think to ask.

I don't know why exactly, just a bad vibe...
