Omega Elite Facelift 3.0lt Auto with LPG

First registered 01/09/2000
5 owners including me
Current mileage 73842
Recent New LPG STAG 300 fitted with 92ltr tank in boot. Registered UKLPG.
Colour information display SAT NAV
Last Cambelt @ 69173 March 2012.
New front pads and discs 69269 March 2012
New rear discs, pads, calipers and correct air suspension rear springs (genuine)

An up together nice tidy example with the LPG being fitted in 2013. At the same time as the gas was fitted I did the cam cover gaskets so nice tight leak free engine. Silver with nice black leather. No rust on the body and the underneath is very, very tidy. Everything works bar the back window blind. Starts on the button always. Have service history from new including print out from when VX looked after her also have the build sheet from when she was made. The above work has all been carried out by myself to a very high standard. I do not take short cuts period. The paint has some lacquer lifting on the front and rear bumpers. I’ve tried to show it in the photos. All tyres are good. This car is a very reluctant sale but I know just having it standing around will do more damage than good. A new MOT will be done when sale agreed along with an oil and filter change using 10/40 semi synthetic oil. This is not your usual EBAY special. I am a VX enthusiast. Always happy to answer questions. Please feel free to contact me. Advertised here for 2 weeks before going on evil bay. £1350. Will listen to sensible offers. If I don't respond to your offer then I've taken it and as not sensible.

If you want anymore pics of any specific areas just ask and I'll get them done.
Cheers for looking.

Omega General Help / Vibration. Could it be the diff???
« on: 25 July 2013, 20:50:33 »
I've still got a transmission vibration which is making the car almost undriveable. I'm running out of ideas. I've changed the wheels, rear discs, rear drive shafts. So I can only see me having 3 options left. Diff, prop shaft or gearbox. Diff is an X ros LSD. It works well and is still actually working as an LSD. So my symptoms are at 56 MPH There a very abrupt vibration which is bad enough to wobble the gearstick (auto) sun visors and even the front passenger seat. Can be felt through the floor of the car, it's almost a thud, thud, thud but softer. Is there anything in the diff which could go out of balance enough to cause this? I can't for the life of me think what would. The vibration feels to slow to be the prop. I've checked all the flange couplings and all are ok. I'm running out of time as well. I fear I'm going to have to buy another car and break this one for spares to recoup my LPG conversion costs. Oh and there's no wheel wobble etc and all wheels are now round!!!!!

I must confess with a very heavy heart to losing the faith.

Just recently my Omega has been getting me down and I have done the unthinkable. I've been looking at modern cars again. The Miglet has just clocked over 74k. Never fails to start but there's always something else going on. I'm hoping a remap of the LPG and an update of controller firmware will give it a bit better lease of life, however the biggest bug bare I have is a real pigging annoying vibration which shakes the car so much it's horrible. It makes my ageing chops flap!!! What with the "I'll just change the rear pads" saga turning into a 500 quid bill my faith has been strained and some what broken. Sigh. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to cars. To me front wheels are for steering, rear for driving. So my choices for new cars is limited especially as I don't like Merc's or Beemers. I fear my days of ownership are nearing an end and it pains me to say I can see me driving some microminieuroshitbox. Restore my faith people  :-[ :-[ :-[

Omega General Help / snapped rear coil spring
« on: 12 July 2013, 11:17:23 »
Ok guys need some info. I've got a snapped rear coil on the Mig. I want to keep the air suspension.  Are my only options for a new spring genuine? They are 240 quid for the pair and as the ladt genuine set only lasted 20k miles I loath to spend that again.

Well, as my post count has gone the way of the last worn out air freshener. I have nothing to lose. Through my under ground tree root source I have managed to contact the MOT station and ask for their side of the story. It appears Mr Boy has been some what economical with the truth. This is how Mr Boy presented his car for MOT

No wonder they thought he'd just fallen out of a tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Just had to take my 17's off and fit my 18's as one of the tyres started to delaminate!!! It's an old Pirelli which the PO threw on when he got a flat. I'd say it was made around the time of creation (and on the 8th day God made tyres). So to match up the wheel with the other 3 tyres I have has anybody got a Triangle tyre? part worn or new but must of been made this century and not as smooth as my baby bottom. Want to keep the set of 17's as I'll need to refurb the 18s at some point.

Well this is new. I get to work this morning and if going to work wasn't enough of a shock I pulled the key out and the stereo stays on. So I double check but nope nothing I do will make it switch off unless I push the power button. So has the stereo decide to have a mental break down on constantly playing non stop Jason and Kyle...... with a bit of Rick mixed in. Or is my ignition switch just about to leave me at the side of the road?

General Discussion Area / Pepperpot Hill Salisbury
« on: 07 May 2013, 03:12:00 »
So tonight as I'm a Billy no mates I went to watch Iron Man 3 on my own. On the way home I stopped to get a coffee. Bugger me it was hot!!! Totally undrinkable so as I was in the Rangie I thought I know I'll go and sit at the top of Pepperbox hill and wait for it to cool down. So I puttle off and of course the Rangie just laughed at the pathetic excuse for a byway and chugged through the mud. So I stopped at the top and turned the lights off and WOW Salisbury all lit up looked cool. So I'm drinking my coffee and doing some star gazing as well and POOF!! I lose an hour and a half of my life. How on earth did that time fly?? So thought I better push on home but of course I went the long muddy way. Be rude not to. I do know the route so knew it wouldn't get difficult. Mind you the thought of having to phone the wife and saying come get me I'm stuck did cross my mind......... em I think I'd be better off just taking a nap in the car then the wrath SWMBO because I'b been stupid.  ::) What got me is they are doing some work on underground pipelines  on top of the hill. They have a yard up there and a 24 hour security guard. He was in a Jag but how he bloody got that far along the track I'll never know.

General Car Chat / trade club oil price
« on: 19 April 2013, 19:33:32 »
What's the price and deal on 10/40 oil these days?

13
Anybody got a copy of the Zavoli software? I've brought my P38. Got it for a smashin price but the LPG kit hadn't been used for 3 years till today. It did well but was a bit grumpy and rough. Car has always been run on petrol and the battery has been allowed to go flat quite a lot in that 3 year period so I'm guessing the LPG ECU might be throwing a hissy fit.

General Car Chat / What do we know about P 38 Range rovers
« on: 05 April 2013, 23:09:45 »
Been thinking of one these for a while. Will V8 on LPG or the 2.5 fat burner. Lots about I'm aware of the air suspension issues. 2.5 is apparently the BMW unit so guess it's the same as the Omega one. Any other issues? Is the fat burner a chain or cambelt?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Calling all Tech 2 owners
« on: 31 March 2013, 17:21:28 »
All pie in the sky but I've got a mate who owns a garage. He has sat on the shelf an GM tech 2. It's been there since he took on the garage. He says it doesn't work and has offered it to me but I haven't a clue who to take it to for repair. I don't know nothing more than that about it. So before I part with a good price for it can anybody tell me where it can be repaired.
