Bandit has a 3.2 elite estate he's selling, not a bad example either and it's pretty cheap

Only to start with: it's a pampered car that will need nothing. A cheap one will need a constant drip of cash spent to bring it up to scratch.

The first buyer didn't get in contact for 48 hours, and then pulled out of the sale because he had an unforeseen serious financial situation.

If the second buyer doesn't go through with it, Kate, I'll give it to you at a significantly reduced cost

I have a 2.6 CD auto estate sitting at home. It's in need of an MOT & a few bits & pieces need doing to get one.
It's the ubiquitous silver, a mere 80'000 miles with excellent history including 2 new cam belts.
I advertised it here a while back, the ad is probably still here.
I'm not local to you though.
Send me a pm if it is of any interest.
Cheers.

Sorry Kate, but I did say in my message that the chap who enquired first had refusal, and that the offer was only on the basis he didn’t take it :y

Which tbh, imo contradicts your earlier post in this thread James. To me, that post was offering Kate first refusal on the car if the ebay sale didn't happen.

I hope that does not turn out to be a mistake Kate, as a James fettled car is a good 'un, and if not he will almost certainly fix it for parts only, whereas from anywhere else, however cheap, it will almost certainly be a money pit. Good luck with your search. :y

Glad to know you're still lurking about Kate-there's nowt like a good lurk now and again :D- Hope all is well with you and you get to find the car you want :y

It may read like that to you, but you are not aware of the private conversations that took place between kate and I, which, out of respect to her, will remain private -

other than to say what she already has: that I did honour my offer to her, which was subsequently also declined, and the reason it was only then offered  elsewhere.

In which case post #25 doesn't make sense.  ::)

In which case post #25 doesn't make sense.  ::)

Post 25 was made after

A) kate had been given first refusal
B) kate decided not to go ahead
C) the next “refusal” was given to the other interested member
D) kate reconsidered and asked if the car was still available, by which time it wasn’t.

You are not privy to the private conversations that took place. I have not gone back on my word to anyone.

Please enlighten us as to why you feel the need to pick at another member over something that is of absolutely no concern to you?

Not picking at anyone. The wording of post 25 contradicted what you said to Kate in an earlier post.
If it seems contradictory because other parts of the conversation were private, then why post those parts publicly and cause confusion ?
Anything posted publicly can be legitimately deemed to be worthy of consideration and concern for anyone else who reads it, and then has a right to comment on it
I didn't accuse you of going back on your word. Simply stated that what was publicly posted contradicted another publicly posted statement.

The car has been sold and getting into a he said/she said etc spat is not only childish and irrelevant, it is beneath both of you IMHO.  :-X

Mate, I agree with Tigger. We’ve been on here for years and you’re someone I have a lot of respect for. I’m out at the moment but I will PM you in a bit and we’ll put it to bed :y

Fair comment Tigger. It started because going by what I read (obviously without knowledge of the private conversations between posts) I was concerned that Kate might have been let down. Of course, as often then happens, it turned into one of those conversations, where we each feel the need to explain ourselves and defend our standpoint.
No need for PM James. Its done & dusted as far as I'm concerned.

Which of course is nothing at all to do with any of us, especially when not privvy to the private convo's between them selves >:(

I'm still looking for an estate. The one I really wanted needed work so it became unaffordable.

I'd really like an MV6 3.2 but there seems to be a shortage of Omegas now.

Without wanting to be rude, to find an omega in your budget, that won’t need work, will be some mean feat. But if you want to take a chance on, for example, one with an oil cooler failure or similar level fault, if it comes up, I will help you out with the fitting at no cost

A bit of a late response, but the idea of you, James, behaving dishonourably or ignobly is about as likely as my being engaged as Prima Ballerina in Swan Lake!

Thanks James. The other Omega I was interested in had no mot and needed a lot of work.

After having a look at getting another Omega it seems like I won't be able to find one at all so I'm giving up and admitting defeat.

A 15 + year old large car without any faults being sold cheap is going to be a very tall order,Kate, also a V6 isn't a cheap car to run now or maintain .

Good luck with your search though...they do come up occasionally. :y
