Problems...
« on: 09 November 2014, 18:16:26 »

Basically I'm after a part number for the L.P. A/C Valve to save you reading all of the below...

...The windscreen has been misting up badly as soon as the sun goes down, Doesn't matter if you use hot/cool air,  fan Full or Low speed Etc.. I say cool rather than cold as the A/C has leaked again... I presume this is why the windscreen is misting up as bad as it is anyway?

This is where the part number comes into play, I've been searching and searching and can't find any genuine omega LP vales for the A/C... I used a new normal tyre valve roughly 2 months ago  it had a red ring which the one it replaced also had a red ring and looked identical, Anyway with the new valve it lasted roughly 5-7 weeks, Better than the 3 weeks prior to the new valve..

Saying that I did notice some bubbles once I remo the dust cap once home after having the A/C done so it's a good chance it's onl that that's leaki to last so long hopefully, I scored the dust cap back on as tight as possible just hopeing it would last the winter, Which it has decided not too.

I'm just going to give in next summer and buy the bloody pipe with the valve on if I can't find a proper A/C LP valve for it. Which no doubt will be around £250-£300 all in  :-\

That's the valve at the top of the engine ....... not at the front by the rad?  :-\

I can't help with a part number, but the top (tyre valve type) valve is normally the only valve that the parts lads can find on EPC  ::)

The answer is here:  http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1605532#msg1605532 or here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1604750#msg1604750

I got the GM ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/R134A-AIRCON-GM-SCHRADER-VALVE-CORE-PACK-5-2673-/400198885451?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5d2db6604b but I also got some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYRE-VALVE-CORE-REMOVER-REMOVAL-TOOL-WHEEL-INNERTUBE-FOUR-FREE-CORES-/201066297456?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item2ed07c3870

My problem was actually the High Pressure valve instead which can easily be changed (when de-gassed) as valve unscrews and is NOT part of the pipework contrary to what the Garages will try to fleece you for !!  HP valve is only a few quid.  The part number and guide for that is on the OOF guide at http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=124057.0  :y

Hope that helps. :y

Both valves readily available individually, so don't be told different :y

Vauxhalls are adamant that they do not sell the LP valve, Just that section of pipe, It's so tiresome arguing with them.  :-\

They said the same thing about the HP valve before I gave them the part number.

Hopefully someone knows the part number I can give to these numpties...

The EPC diagram isn't clear, but the part numbers are definitive.

The valve is most definitely available separately... I bought two thinking both valves were the same ::) (don't get your hopes up though, long since sold the spare to someone else...)

Btw, you know what I think of your dealer :-X

They couldn't identify an Vauxhall product if you drove it through the showroom window, breakless onanists...

This what it looks like & shows that it's NOT integral to the pipe
