Fault code came back :

P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

What does this mean  :-\

Car was standing unused for about 6 weeks but ive been using the car for 3 weeks now and when the eml comes on it does not affect the engine at all .

You can safely ignore that one. The usual pre-cat monitoring problem that is common to 3.2s and less so 2.6s.

Solution is to relocate the secondary lambda sensors behind the main cats.

Or, drive in a manner that reduces the chances of P0420/P0430 ever showing.  ;)  Never had that issue on mine for some reason.  :-\ :)

Apologies, my comment sounds like a rude response and it wasn't intended that way. I have heard that it's very common for the 3.2 but haven't suffered it on mine. The only time my eml came on was when I'd put contaminated fuel in it a while back, for which I was refunded.  :y

Worth giving "Cataclean" a go?

Naah. You'll drive yourself mad trying to figure out if it's this or that or whether potion A helps over potion B. Put up with the light. If that drives you mad, relocate the sensors. :y

No offence taken. I guess "pootling along behind some retard at just below torque converter lockup speed" isn't the manner you're referring to, or my commute would have fixed the problem long ago.  ::)

As YZ250 has far too politely suggested, drive it properly. If you don't want to, move the sensors as Kevin Wood says - this requires a bit of drilling and welding, and possible 2 sensors.

Don't bother with the snake oils, or expensive petrol. You will find it impossible to reach a conclusion.
