Dave sorry about the bad pic but is this the right number layout for the test socket?

I have the same socket on my pre-facelift but different location... will post photo of PFL test socket location shortly  :y

thanks for the url, followed all the instructions & thoroughly cleaned magnetic disc, refitted but still wouldn't reprogramme. courtesy lamp wouldn't prise out, without brut force because the plastic rim sits about 1cm proud of the metal clips  :question (immpossible to depress the metal clips with a flat head screwdriver or similar) however that's not anyones fault except GM. couldn't figure out pic 4 (shows the magnetic disc sitting over the spindle hole  :exclamation) so re-positioned the disc as shown in pic 5. I am very grateful and definately couldn't have done it without this step by step link. Maybe need to replace the whole unit. thanks for the info, Steve

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Electric sunroof won't reprogramme?
« on: 28 December 2009, 00:12:16 »
Recently disconnected the battery to rid some fault codes following icv problems. Went through the handbook procedure to reprogramme the sunroof and it just won't play ball!? When I press & hold it for 5 secs in closed position - it opens, closes, tilts etc... If I press & hold in the open position it tilts, closes, opens etc... Managed to close it for now by pressing the button in open postion until it returns from tilt, then quickly let go just before it starts to fully open. It doesn't make a good seal because I have to guess when to let go of the button (when it looks about right).  I've had to leave the dial turned to OPEN for it to stay closed!? Now causing a big condensation problem because of the cold whether. Any tips on reprogramming, other than the full procedure stated in the user manual?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Delco CDR500 Code Problems
« on: 04 December 2009, 00:43:05 »
I'm new to the site & need some help to retrieve my radio code after disconnecting battery to reset ECU (just

fitted new crankshaft sensor after loads of problems and a Code 19). I am driving a CD estate with factory fit

Delco CDR500 Radio/cd player. Don't have original car pass and my local main dealer (W.J.King) is quoting £75

despite loads of internet posts estimating £20-£25 for a vox car pass. Browsed radio-code.co.uk (sws-solutions) but

my serial number is not on their data base? They want £15 for pre-order only! Hoping someone might be able to

retrieve my code??? My Omega is 1996 (N Reg) and Serial number for the Delco is GM0500T9043201 If anyone knows the

code I would be very much obliged... thanks, Steve.

Don't know anything about the DTi but also worth checking the throttle cable at engine bay end ie. not stuck or loose?

Omega General Help / Re: Help! Car wont start

as well as the above advice I'd check battery voltage & whether or not alternator is keeping it charged. Also wouldn't hurt to stick a new set of plugs in  ;) Like kneepad says it'll run with or without MAF sensor & you've already changed crank sensor with no further codes. I'd say back to basics... forget it's a V6 and check all the basics; alternator, battery? do your lights dim with higher rpm? (I'd replace it anyway) & new plugs :y

What he said ^ and clean the ICV located in a rubber cylindrical mount on passenger side of plenum... one electrical plug at back & 1 jubilee clip on hose at front. remove these, gently twist and pull ICV out of it's rubber mount and flood it with carb cleaner... then a drop of 3 in 1 oil and replace  :y

I certainly am not always taken seriously on this part of the forum!

I don't know where you get that impression Lizzie. I for one zoom in on any comments you make here.
Having read all of your posts, since I became a member it's obvious that you are one of a handful of people here that actually know what they're talking about.

I love it kneepad, bit of a dark horse ay, you've got the moves kneepad, I've got the six pack, we'd make a good team  ;) ;D :y  And I'm damn sure lizzie wants to spank me...... but probably straight on the jaw :-? ;D ;D

No, to be honest there are men who do not trust women on matters to do with cars

Lizzie I don't care which gender the advice comes from as long as it is a good advice

Indeed, and now you have confirmation of that :D :D :D :D :D :y

Such humility lizzie, I'm touched  ;)
