100k is hardly run in. These cars can take galactic mileage if looked after.Mine has covered 172k and looks and drives close to a brand new car.  :)

At less than half the average mileage, your 19 year old car would be considered very low mileage by people who care about such things.

There isn't one. Do all the service items as recommended, and they will plug on and on and on. If the head gasket eventually fails (rarer than many engines) well, replace the HG... even a catastrophic timing failure requires replacing the heads, but there's plenty on here who would replace the cyl heads in an afternoon without blinking. Was in a taxi the other week in Poland, which had done some 250k, and felt no less tight or less worn out than my old girl. And I'm sure there's plenty I've replaced with new/good low-mileage 2nd hand which the Polski taxi driver won't have. But it plugged on very nicely, lots of worn trim, but the ride and engine never missed a beat.

We actually did!  :y

Very odd culture, every taxi ride they tipped us....ie: if the fare was say 32.30, we've give them 40 in notes, and they'd just shrug and 'call it 30.00' kind of thing. We had a good natter with Mr Omega Taxi (neither one of us speaking the other's language) and was a very pleasant chap, I was able to tell it was a 94/5 car by the trim differences. He looked at the wad of notes we paid him like a refugee that'd received his first clean change of clothes, it was really sweet, I think he was flattered. Out of the half-dozen Merc Taxis that week we rode in the Omega was the smoothest, and the highest mileage.  :)

Said 'please use this to spend keeping the Omega on the road'  :)
