Is this a colour match for STMO's Astra
« on: 20 August 2015, 13:57:21 »

Always one to help the elderly in society I have unselfishly come to the rescue of STMO.

Should Steve need some touch up paint for the mighty 1.4 four pot he can use this brief video as a handy reference.

I would say the match is uncanny. :y

D'yer know what, I've got to say, it's almost a perfect match. Thank you  :y

One problem, though. Modern cars, such as the Astra J, simply do not rust during, say, the first seven years of ownership. Who, in their right mind, would own anything older than that? It would be embarrassing to be seen in an old banger with rusty wheel arches or the like.  :)

My Signum is eight years old. Do I need to worry about the tin worm? ::)

Cars built in the sixties and seventies certainly suffered with excessive rust.

Some of the most expensive were the worst. The Jensen Interceptor despite costing as much as a house was not immune to the ravages of the tin worm. :-\

If you stood and looked at a Lancia for more than five minutes, you could actually see the pile of brown dust building underneath it.

Yes, the Lancia Beta in particular had a poor reputation.

Shame really because I hankered after the coupe version back in the day.

The Lancia Beta, Delta and the Alfasud were the Eyetalin cars that gave me a hard on.  8)  Sadly they all crumbled to dust as quickly as my youthful dreams of suducing Sofia Loren lookalikes!  :-\  ;D

My father owned two of these. A 1.2ti and a 1.5ti. Great little drivers cars that handled as if on rails. :y

Introduced in the same year as the Morris Marina.

One was was technically advanced  the other wasn't.

One handled like a dream the other didn't. :)

Although I never achieved Alfasud ownership, I did have a Marina Coupe 1800TC!   8)  :y

I think the Pussy Magnet in the Alfasud was stronger than the Marina's however....  :-\   ::)   ;D
