Evening,

umm I got all things together, started car running normally, very smooth but when I rev the throttle feels pretty hard and when you release throttle it kinda backfires? Is it normal after blocking EGR or? And what's with the throttle?

Ye I don't what the weather thinks first it's almost 30c warm for almost a week (here in Finland it's alot) and now it's raining and according to meteorologists it will rain for whole week.

Very nice car...
In my opinion, You can replace the aircon with the electronic one and install leather seats for just a beginning...
I guess you can find those with much cheaper than in my country...

Well that would be some, but I think that's going to be later project.

So here is what I got from this EGR project.

This is what I made.



And this is why.

As you can see from my drawing it doesn't matter if you leave the hole with the vent open because the exhaust gas isn't coming to it.


I hope this topic will also help other to block the EGR.


But beware I haven't tested this yet with car running because I also did something else....(pictures taken yesterday)


It's been raining here all day so I didn't get a chance to put the parts back on. And yes I have a carage but the Legends of mine is taking all place

Hi all,

some of you may already seen topic of my Omega but here's link to it http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=116272.0

So about myself I've been driving go-karts since 6 years old and now I'm 19.
I got lots of pots and won many races but never won the finnish championship but got very good positions.
Last year (2012) I had a year off from racing in tracks because I got Omega and only raced at streets but I never broke the traffic rules
Yearly 2013 I bought Legends car with my dad and started to race with it.

Untill now it's been an brilliant start season for my new hobby
Next race is in two weeks.

I have my schools done and I'm working with electric jobs and 2014 fall I will probably start in a university of applied sciences (hopefully that's the right word for my meaning)

Okay, thanks for the answers, gotta find thicker tin.
And it's sure that you don't need to change programs to ECU or nothing?

Lets see if I take out the whole air intake system and wash it today and also block the EGR.

But its 5 minutes for Formula 1 start so I watch it first

The EGR valve usually gets blanked off using a plate the same shape as the gasket click here but obviously without the two holes in the middle.

I know that some Vauxhall can be told that the EGR isn't still fitted, but the Omega isn't one of them, and if you disconnect it electrically, you will get an engine management light. 

Here's a photo that I tried to explain about the other way to do the tincan fix, got an idea why he did that?


He said at the forum where I picked up that picture, that he thinks that the valve should have room to close and open. And also you should know that this picture is from 2.2 engine EGR, does it make the difference?

Hi,

I know there is some topics already about EGR:s but I couldn't find a topic that would make me ready for blocking it.

So what I do know is that blocking EGR will make my omega happier.

I read someone blocked some vacuum pipes, what are those?
Then i read someone blocks the EGR with tincan aluminium 2 different ways.
Some block the both holes and someone leaves the other hole with the valve open, that the valve can open and close, and blocks the other.

I really don't even know how my EGR looks because I haven't taken it off yet, but I assume that it has two holes at the bottom as the ones I've been reading.

And then I also found a photo of some chip that it prevents a EGR light coming on. Do I have somekind of EGR light problem if I do something to it?

Evening forum, this is update of what I have done.


I had one problem with the back window it worked from front switch but from back door switch it didn't go up, there was broken wire. Easy to fix but I wanted to look inside the doors even it wasn't necessary to take off the doorboard(what is the real naming for that?)
You just needed to take off the black rubber spriral from the car end and take off the adapter and pull down the rubber and fix the broken wires. Could've been easier to explain with photos but I kinda forgot.






Oh, and here's the camera that I bought from dx and installed last year. There was funny thing when I bought it, memory card had same price as the camera






Now to the LEDs

Very tidy. What did u stick them eyebrow things on with.  I've got some now and sprayed so hoping to put them on this weekend..?

I didn't put them on, they were on when i bought the car, but when I took them off from old headlamps I heated them and just pulled them off and I think it was somekind of double-sided tape. If I would put them on I would use double-sided tape or somekind of silicone.


I have to ask, what should I do with the wheels? Probably omega's original alloys? Or just paint these and buy spacers?
Problem is that I dont like these alloys with ET49 they are too inside in the fender.

I ordered the top model led(42mm) of the picture to doors, reading light and tailgate.(6 leds). Back door reading lights(37mm) I already found in local store but the longer ones they didn't have. Less heat, less power consumption and more light that's why

Hello everyone,
I've been following this forum for a while and now I decided to register and make topic of my own Omega

Opel Omega MV6 3.0l V6 -95
I bought her in january 2012 and she was my first car and still is.
First I only drove and didn't do much just normal changing oil and some maintenance.



These are from previous owner.






These are couple weeks after I bought her.






Spring and summer is close. Vectra is my dad's 2.6l V6.





Summer 2012.








Tailpipe polished with sandpaper






In drag race with my brother he needed car with hitch





Until this I've been pretty much taking parts off and polish them and put back on, some broken parts I got from crashed Omegas.
Also changed all the fluids, brakepads and also fitted new music player because I didn't got the original player and the old wasn't so good or nice either.



Winter came pretty fast.





Decided to get new headlamps that were used but in average condition because I got them cheap







Early 2013.





Spring 2013 after big motor service
-Valve covers and gaskets
-Timing belt and water pump
-Spark plugs
-A/C service






Then I took the fron pumper off and cleaned it and also put it on properly earlier it was somehow loose.





And now after the front pumper project and ongoing led lamp project





After the leds next project will be to do something to the wheels, spacers or new alloys.
