Sweet rims man, are they the coilovers for a omega aswell in the pic? They look like the set I tried and returned them shortly later for being so bad.
Title: Re: my 3.2 estate
Post by: baggedestate on 19 February 2016, 10:08:17
Yeah I do Harris lol I'm testing a rear wheel today at lunch so will post a picture up tonight and hopefully fitting front bumper and new bonnet grille after work.

And cheers :) and yeah they are the ones of ebay ta technix I think they come as spares as the previous owner didn't like them and had some front coilovers made up. Will post a picture later aswell

Title: Re: my 3.2 estate
Post by: baggedestate on 19 February 2016, 15:20:36
Looking at them while test fitting a wheel I don't think they are the rear coilovers but will double check when I get more of a chance

Oh my lord, I'm not sure that's ever goin to fit, what pcd are the wheels, any chance of using wobble bolts?

I think et 50 will fit 10j wheel, it's along way to go
Title: Re: my 3.2 estate
Post by: baggedestate on 19 February 2016, 21:47:38
Yeah I'm gunna order some wobble bolts. Should fit on rear with the. Front's could be a pain as on old ones the tyre hit on the coilovers gunna need to make sure they side wider as not sure how wide my front air ride struts will be

You might be better off grabbing the first working estate rear seat regardless of material as cloth will be far more readily available  :y Also, if you want heated rears, then it needs to be Elite, and cloth heaters are more durable... Besides if they're being recovered the original material is largely irrelevant ;)

Yeah true. Was thinking of getting a black leather one if possible then I can stick it in and it will still look half decent if that makes sense until I can get it retrimming but I'll see what I can find :)

Fair enough :y Worth noting also that any Omega B estate seat will fit, as although later seats have a couple of extra safety bits and bobs, none of it is Mot relevant and certainly there are no airbag/pretensioner issues... ;)

Looking good mate - but why didn't you repair split in front bumper before spraying it? - stands out like a sore thumb IMO.

Easy repair too!

If you read the whole thread, the rear bumper is being/has been painted... Front bumper has been glacier white from new...???

The full car is being resprayed and all repair work is being done then as didn't see point of getting repaired and sprayed glacier white again when it's changing and front bumper is having alot of work with plate recess being smoothed etc. once the air ride is on and I can then see if I need to do any arch modifications to fit my bbs wheels.

On the plus side my rear air bags arrived yesterday. And fronts will be here in around 2 weeks

Yeah that's the lowest setting can raise it up quite a bit i do have a video but not sure how to upload a video on it here so yeah the bumper will be well away from damage lol.
Well if air ride is chavtastic I'd hate to see what you would say to alot of other things.
And yeah 106 Pete aiming to get rears fitted tomorrow and then I pick my bbs up from refurb next week.

Take the comments with a pinch of salt James, remember some... Not all people on this forum are quite a bit older than even me and I'm old! They don't understand that chavtastic is not even a word let alone I haven't heard it since the 90s!!  ;D ;D

In their eyes if it's not completely OEM and as boring as hell then the insults start flying, I had it all when I built that car up... Ooooh it hasn't got standard suspension, ooooh its this.... Oh it's that etc! Sod'em dude, do what makes you happy and continue on the modifying path your on! Car looks ace, keep it up!  :y

It still escapes me how people can be so narrow minded  ::)

Really nice fit on the rear, can you tuck the front anymore? It looks like quite abit of camber on the rear, I'm guessing if you correct it the tyre won't fit under the arch tho?
Title: Re: my 3.2 estate
Post by: baggedestate on 13 May 2016, 08:04:25
I need to remove the spacer of the front as it has aired out onto the tyre so once removed hopefully will sit better at front. And yeah I'm pleased with how rear sits. I do have a spacer on the rear I could remove then I'd be able to adjust it back. Buthe I like abit of camber lol

Post by: minifreek on 13 May 2016, 10:15:56
Id be rolling those arches back, both front and rear...

Can't you fit the adjustable camber anchors for the top of struts to get the wheel to tuck under when on full drop...?

I'm sure they are available for the Monaro, so should easily fit the Omega... with a bit of work....
Title: Re: my 3.2 estate
Post by: baggedestate on 13 May 2016, 10:33:56
ive already got custom top mounts on front which are movable so they dont bend the standard top mounts. il gunna sort the front camber at the weekend. and yeah im gunna roll both front and rear arches as ive got a arch roller

Looks real good bud, I never noticed the roof rails were missing till I noticed the filler hehe. The rear camber does look good but them tyres sure ain't gonna last very long.

Yeah I wernt sure what I was gunna find under the wrap buythe i was actually really surprised and pleased it's one less job for bodyshop now. And yeah I know lol its only way to make them fit with 20mm spacers doesn't look as good without them lol and lucky my mate works in tyre place ;)

Loving this mate its what I wanted to do to my pre face saloon about 10 years ago but never did and it sits on my drive waiting for me to decide to break it or sell it now. Then I wanted to do it to the estate I had and again never got round to it and then found it was rotten at the back ended up as parts. So I'm glad I have seen one done. Just gutted now lol that I never did finish off any of mine.  Top top job mate. :y

The car is looking killer, certainly going to be a one off and you will have absolutely no chance of seeing anything like it any where else in the UK...it's a great example of making the car your own, and once the final touches go in it's  going to get admiring looks where ever you take it.....but you'll get used to that ;) :y

You might think about joining the ABS(that's if you haven't already)as they are all VX and I've spent the last few months going to the shows that they attend and have really enjoyed the atmosphere of those shows. Also they have quite a few shows in and around Essex which is a hop over the bridge from your patch. :-\
