Erhard Schnell responsible for the design of[among others] Opel GT and Calibra  passed away aged 92.

Rather liked the Calibra.

Just a Cavalier in a posh frock if memory serves.

The Opel GT was  a 'mini exotic' back in the day. I have a road test from 1971. It cost £2294. A triumph GT6 could be had for £1272. Rover 2000 was £1675.

No wonder they're a rarity at that price. Pretty sure a P5 Rover could have been had for less in 71

There was a very good movie regarding their pioneering work on T/V a few weeks ago. Title is "Hidden Figures", it's a good watch and shows the racism and segregation they overcame at NASA.
