Title: Boris adviser clearout
Post by: Varche on 13 November 2020, 13:10:28
Cain and now Cummings.

Boris putting a line under Brexit ready to move on. New era with no Trump and a trade deal with big concessions with Europe shortly to be announced.? No doubt Boris will be keen to shake off his mini Trump tag.

That issue is actually down to the former journalist he appointed as she insisted on full access to Boris. Neither Cain nor Cummings thought this was a good idea...

How Brexit is dealt with has nothing to do with the US and what the current/next President might think... They only serve a fixed term, whereas we have ALREADY left the EU and this should be a permanent move.

So the "media" have decided that because a bloke says in January that he is leaving "by December", that when he actually says, in November, that he's going by Christmas , he has been "pushed out" in some huge conspiracy theory!!

Lead from the front by the epitomy of balanced reporting ... Laura Kuenssberg

Desperation to stir the shit or what ???

Can only agree with that.

Cummings gone...

He Looked forlorn and lost, as though he was on his way to the local food bank.

As he's now unemployed that might well be the case.  ;D

I just read that he was on £95,000 to £99,000 a year, so I doubt he'll be skint just yet. He'll walk straight into a lucrative job, probably at least treble his pay.

.. as opposed to just dressing as if he was on his way to the local food bank.

As I see it - Previously Cummings would have expected to be appointed to the new role of chief of staff. His little daytrip earlier in the year made that impossible though and he knew it.
He tried for the next best option, which was to put "his man" into the job and operate him remotely.
Boris girlfriend (a former senior adviser herself) saw her opportunity to thwart this, with a little help from her friends, and talked Boris into doing something different, which made Cummings realise his influence / authority was fatally wounded.
So rather than hang on to be further humiliated, he jumped ship.
Despite what anyone may think of Cummings, I find it extremely worrying that Boris,s girlfriend is apparently now effectively in control of the Government.
Cherie Blair was far too involved in Govt. business during tainted Tonys tenure, but this seems to go far beyond that.

I wouldnt be surprised if Boris doesnt last until the next election. Either by deciding himself or the men in grey suits deciding for him.
Its pretty evident he isnt really up to the job, but as always the problem is, who is there to replace him with ?
Personally I dont care much about what becomes of Boris. It looks like he will have been effective in getting the job done which was the most important job when he came to office. After January 1st, they can chuck him in the Thames for all I care.

I noticed him sitting down a lot on Remembrance Sunday, looked knackered. The virus may have done more damage than we know.

I expect that Cummings and Cain provided the much needed steel for the Government's back bone that had gone MIA under Theresa May, and have gone because the wets at No 10 are panicking about No Deal and plan to concede to the EU for BRINO.  :-\

Dominic Raab has been pretty quiet recently, just keeping his head down, staying out of the squabbles and getting on with his job.  ;)

Thats my take and why I posted in the first place.

Successor? Raab or Rishi . Both have kerb appeal but in different ways. The latter hasn’t done much other than give away and borrow.

Raab and Rishi are a pair of damp rags imo. Barely capable of running a corner shop. Rishi wants the job badly imo, and has ben reasonably popular while giving away the next generations pensions.
W shall se how he performs when he starts trying to make the sums add up in about a years time.

The advisors were clearly out of their depth when it came to running a country, not just campaigning. They are like rats on a sinking ship, so are scuttling away to the usual position of such ex-advisors: academia.

Symonds is counting on the baby to keep Boris close, but she's too blind to realise that's never happened before.

The senior Tories were carefully chosen for their uselessness and that each one of them has at least one flaw that not even Boris can top. That will mean that the party will enjoy their favourite game of lets have a new leader even more than normal.

Due to our outdated method of acquiring a head of government, parliament will flounder around for months.

Boris lacks the self-awareness to do what a real classicist would do after making such a monumental opps up: retire to a locked study, finish the bottle of scotch and give himself a .455 calibre brain haemorrhage. He's likely to revert to his natural habitat; making a tit of himself on popular TV.

That's Trump's real skill too, so if he manages to stay out of prison I predict they'll team up to get on all the shows. You know, the ones like Essex Brother comes in the only celebrity Dancing Chef on ice. A minority ethnic would help this, and a fratricide like Kim Jong-un would make a novelty member.
